"That makes sense. How about this, then? We can go out in pairs, but not in a triad. Meaning there's always two people not going than just one," Star suggested, and I smiled. Trust Star to suggest the most thoughtful and well-balanced version.

"I like it," Dakota agreed, and Ryk gave a thumbs up since his mouth was full.

"What about other things? Like being intimate?" Dakota asked, and I almost choked on the food. Swallowing hard, I cleared my throat and then gulped some water when that didn't help.

"Like sexy times?" Ryk asked because he had zero tact, and Dakota chuckled.

"Yes, that too. I also meant things like kissing and cuddling."

"I don't think all of us need to be present. Maybe the same rule as the one for dates?" Star suggested, and I nodded in complete agreement. I did not want to plan every kiss around everyone's schedule, because that would take all the fun out of it for me.

"Yep, agreed. Also, we should set up a group chat on our phone. That way, we can update each other in the group instead of sending three different personal messages. It'll also make it easier to keep track of what everyone was up to."

"That's a great idea, Ryk," Dakota said with a wide smile. Seeing the fond look on his face, I couldn't help wondering if he would look at Ryk the same way once he knew what we were. The fated bond between us made me hopeful he'd accept us, but as romantic as I was at heart, I still couldn't bring myself to blindly trust it.

"I'll set it up now!" Ryk said before jumping to his feet. "Let me get my phone!" He rushed to his room upstairs before we could get a word in, and Dakota shook his head with a laugh.

"I thought everyone carries their phones around with them 24-7," Dakota joked, and Star rolled his eyes.

"Well, Ryk just isn't like everyone, is he?" he asked, and Dakota smiled widely, that fond look still on his face.

"No, he isn't."

I scraped up the last of the food from my plate as Ryk clattered back down the stairs, phone in hand. Throwing himself on the couch without a word, he started tapping on the screen.

My phone pinged a few moments later, and I pulled it out and clicked open the notification.

Ryk has added you to the group 'The Fab Four.'

"Nice group name," Dakota said, and Ryk smiled widely.

"Thanks! So now we can stay in contact even if we're all in different places," Ryk declared, and I smiled at his enthusiasm.

We chatted for a while after that, though our conversation drifted to less serious topics after a while. Back in the demon realm, I'd always preferred to stay on the sidelines, to observe instead of participate. While I still found myself doing that sometimes—like earlier today at the escape room—I now wanted to participate. I wanted to be involved in their conversations, wanted to share my thoughts with these three men.

Despite all the chaos it had caused—and the very real threat of the dark souls that were still loose in the human realm—a part of me was grateful for the whole debacle with the queen of Underworld, because without it we might've never gotten the chance to come to the human realm. It might've taken centuries before we met Dakota, and even then, it would've been in Afterworld—and that was only if he hadn't been reborn yet.

Jumping into the conversation once more, I sent up a silent thank you to Fate for bringing us together.

It was close to midnight when we finally retreated to bed, and from what I could sense, Dakota and Nico fell asleep almost instantly. Usually, I was the first, but tonight it seemed sleep was planning to elude me.

"Why do you think that is, Moon?" I asked the cat sitting on my chest, and he gave a soft meow in answer. If only I could translate cat-speak.

I'd had a lot of fun on our date today. I hadn't been expecting much from the escape room, but it'd been surprisingly fun. I'd realized quickly it wasn't Ryk's type of thing, but he hadn't seemed too disappointed. Still, I wanted to plan something for him to make up for it. I'd have to ask Nico for suggestions, though. I still didn't know much about the human realm, and especially not about date-night activities available here. I was sure Nico had some great ideas, though. I was sure he'd read every romance book ever released in the human realm. Or at least, it felt like it.

The sound of footsteps pulled my attention, and I recognized Ryk's quick steps a moment before the door to my room slowly slid open.

"Oh! You're awake!" he exclaimed when he spotted me watching him, and I raised a brow at him.

"Were you hoping I'd be asleep?" I asked, and he shook his head as he closed the door behind him and walked over to the edge of the bed.

"Nah, I just expected you to be. You are always the first one to fall asleep, after all," he said with a grin, then climbed onto the bed beside me without preamble.

I moved over to one side to give him more space as I said with just a touch of sarcasm, "Of course, join me, why don't you?"

Ryk grinned as he lay down on his side, his eyes gleaming in the dark room. "Sorry. I just felt lonely sleeping alone after spending time with everyone."
