I turn to face her completely and cross my arms over my chest. “What the hell does that mean?”

She sighs and leans her head back on the headboard. “Nothing.”

“Oh fuck no, explain that,” I push.

She blows out a breath and turns her head toward me. “Right now it’s you and me. We have mind blowing sex and we laugh and we get along really great. But if we bring the others in, what happens? Will you go back to being the guy that I hated? The guy that hated me? The sexual tension has been fucked out, but what if being around everyone proves that it wasn’t want after all?”

I pull her down onto the bed, causing her to yelp, as I climb on top of her. Until the other day, I’d never seen her with her hair down. It’s always up. Always perfectly styled with that matching headband. Now she lets her hair down and it’s unbelievably sexy and the possessive side of me likes that no one else gets to see her like this.

“This is new for both of us, and I can’t promise what the future holds but I can promise you that being around our friends or being deep inside that tight pussy, I’ll still feel the same. We don’t even need to tell them anything. Let’s just go out and celebrate the fact that we are on our way to being Hollywood famous,” I say, grinning at her.

A smile spreads across her face, lighting her up completely. “Alright fine. Let’s go celebrate tonight.”

I roll over, pulling her on top of me, and run my hands up her stomach. “But sex first, baby. Sex always first.”

“That’s badass, Corbin,” Josh, my client says, looking at his pin-up tattoo.

“Thanks, I’m glad you like it,” I reply.

“Definitely, choosing Sabbath Ink over Inkify was the right decision,” he says, looking in the mirror, admiring the tattoo.

Last week I would’ve laughed and agreed but hearing him say it now pisses me off. “Oh yeah and why’s that?” I ask, crossing my arms.

He turns around, grinning. “Because you’re more talented clearly,” he says.

He means it as a compliment, and I should just take it and let him walk away. But that’s not the guy I am.

“So, you’ve been tattooed by her?”

He laughs but it’s a nervous laugh. He’s unsure how to answer me now because he can feel the rage radiating off of me.

“Well, no, but come on man, it’s a compliment,” he says.

I nod my head slowly as I keep my eyes focused on him. “I appreciate your compliment, what I don’t appreciate is you talking shit about someone that you know nothing about.” I step closer to him, and he backs up, holding up his hands. Like that pussy move is going to stop me if I wanted to bust his jaw. “Maybe next time you’ll keep your mouth shut.”

“Hey, everything good in here?” Harry asks, stepping into the room.

I step back and grin. “All good. Josh here is ready to pay if you wanna go ring him up for me,” I say, moving to clean up.

They leave and I blow out a breath, scrubbing my face. Fucking hell, he didn’t even say anything bad, yet my defenses went right up. I want to beat his ass for just saying he’s glad he didn’t go to her shop.

What the hell?

“What the fuck was that stand-off about?” Harry asks, leaning against the door.

I look up at him and shrug. “Nothing, he was making comments about one of the chicks that was here earlier. Just reminding him that being a gentleman is still a good thing,” I lie.

He doesn’t even question it; he simply nods and slaps my back. “You still wanna go out tonight?”

“Hell yeah. I think Leah and her friends are gonna join. You know a little celebration for the Hollywood bound,” I say, laughing.

“Cool, well that was our last client. What time you wanna head to the bar?”

“I just need to clean up and make a phone call. You guys finish up out there and we’ll leave soon,” I say.

Once he leaves, I grab my phone and send a quick text to Leah.

Me: You almost done?
