“What? Don’t you dare come in here. I’m going to bed.”

“Mazie,” he says again as his hand finds my cheek.

“What?” I whisper as I back up, needing space.

But he moves with me. “I want to be with you. If you really can’t handle that we work at the same office, I’ll change fucking firms. That’s how all in I am with you.”

My jaw hangs open and my mouth goes dry. Tears start to spring from my eyes, and I don’t know why. My bottom lip trembles and I shake my head, but no words come out.

“I’m not your father. I’m not a player. I don’t cheat or lie. I’m not working an angle. I’m just a guy who’s falling in love with a beautiful girl. A girl who’s terrified to admit that she feels the same way. But I’m not going away. I’m right here.”

I swipe at my cheeks and look up at him. He takes my breath away. “What about Sabrina the Teenage Witch?” The words break on a sob, and his head falls back in laughter.

“Sabrina is my realtor and an old friend. She’s married to one of my best buddies from college.”

“Oh.” I look away for a minute and process his words. “Let’s not tell her about the nickname then, okay?”

“Okay.” He moves closer and smiles at me. “Are we doing this?”

“Yes,” I whisper. “I’m sorry for being too afraid to really try before now. But I’m tired of being scared, Aidan.”

“I know you are. And you don’t have to be afraid with me. I’m not going anywhere. From the minute I saw you drenched in water on the street, I was fucking done for.”

I chuckle and tip my head back to look at him. “Are you going to kiss me already?”

His foot kicks my door closed and his mouth covers mine in one swift move.

“Damn. That was smooth,” I say against his mouth.

His hands find my ass and he lifts me up, my legs wrapping around his waist, as he carries me down the hall toward my bedroom.

“Are you ready for me?” he teases as he drops me on the bed and hovers above me.

“Yep. I’m fairly certain I’ve been waiting for you my entire life.” It’s a vulnerable thing to say, but it’s the truth.

“Fuck. I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but I’m never letting go.” His gaze searches mine in the little bit of moonlight coming through the windows.

And all my fears leave in that moment.

Because I know that this man is the real deal.

That there are still good men out there and Aidan’s one of them.

No doubt in my mind.

Chapter 14

Aidan

I lean back to untie her robe and let it fall open. My eyes scan her delicious body, and my fingers trace down her neck, over her perfect tits, and down her belly as she trembles.

“So fucking beautiful. I can’t wait to taste you.”

She shivers and her eyes squeeze closed.

“No, my love. Eyes open. I want to see you when you come apart for me.”

“Oh my god,” she whispers, and I chuckle as I kiss her hard.
