“More,” she says.

We find our perfect rhythm.

This girl is made for me.

And I’ll never get enough.

Our labored breaths fill the space around us as we move faster.

Hungrier.

My mouth covers hers again as I force myself to hold back.

Taking us both to the edge and then slowing our rhythm takes all my restraint. But I’m fucking loving this, and I don’t want it to ever stop.

“Please, Aidan,” she says, and I kiss her hard. Our bodies slap together, both covered in a layer of sweat. My hand comes down between us, knowing exactly what she needs. She gasps and moans as I move faster.

“Oh,” she says before crying out my name as she goes over the edge beneath me.

I pull back and watch her and it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever fucking seen.

I thrust again. Once. Twice.

And I follow her right over the edge.

Light explodes behind my eyes as I come apart.

I fall forward and roll on my side so I don’t crush her. I take her with me, so we’re facing one another. I push the hair away from her face.

“You’re fucking amazing.”

“I’m sorry I ever pushed you away,” she says as she nuzzles beneath my chin.

“You were worth the wait.”

Isn’t that the fucking truth.

Chapter 15

Mazie

SIX MONTHS LATER

“I’m so happy they’re finally meeting,” I say as I lean close to Aidan and we watch our parents at the table, talking a mile a minute.

“Well, I’m glad I’ve won your mom over, that was most important,” he teases.

I laugh. He came home with me to meet my mom a few months ago, and we spent a week with her. She had all those preconceptions about me dating someone at work, but she fell in love with Aidan immediately, which is saying a lot, because my mom is a tough one to win over.

Aidan has been good for both of us in so many ways. I think my mother seeing me find love and truly being happy has helped her to move forward.

“So, you’re dating?” Lori, Aidan’s mom, says.

“Oh, yes. These two lovebirds made me realize that there are good men out there. My ex-husband, God rest his soul, doesn’t get to decide that I’m alone for the rest of my life.”

“Dad is not dead,” I gasp and shake my head.

“Sorry. That’s right. I’m doing some of that visualization stuff in the mornings, and I must have accidentally killed him off in my mind.” She shrugs, like it’s completely normal.
