The heat continued on for another five days. By the time it finished, we all needed about two more days to sleep, and then another week to recover. I still blush and simultaneously get aroused when I think about what we did in that nest.

But there’s one thing that’s bothering me.

Falcon never bonded me. He hasn’t mentioned it, and I’ve been too scared to ask.

I find my way to his office and walk inside. He’s standing at the huge window with a phone to his ear. When he sees me, he points to one of the seats and holds up a finger.

I shift uncomfortably on the chair and resolve to do this. Then lose my courage and then find it again.

Dylan, Gray, and Silas have been putting bets on when I would actually get the courage to confront him. If I go through with it today, Gray and Silas owe Dylan one huge favour.

I need to know the answer so that I can stop wondering if I’ve done something wrong.

Falcon hangs up the phone and comes around to lean against the desk in front of me. “What’s up, Nyx?”

“How do you know something’s up?” I ask.

“You have the thinking face on.”

I hesitate, feeling stupid.

“I won’t think it’s stupid, whatever it is,” he says, and it feels like he’s reading my mind. Perhaps the bond isn’t necessary. No, I need to do this.

“Why haven’t you bonded with me?”

He straightens and frowns. I watch his face carefully until he crouches in front of me and takes my hands.

“Did you think I didn’t want to?”

I look away from those cerulean eyes. Why is he so pretty?

“Maybe, no. Sometimes.”

Falcon blows out a breath. “That was not my intention. I was just giving you time.”

“For what?” I almost shout.

“I feel things more intensely than the others. I was giving you time to get used to the bonds.”

“I don't want to wait anymore. I just want you.” I bite my lip and look away, but he touches my jaw and turns my face back towards him.

“You have me,” Falcon whispers. “You have all of me, all of us. We belong to you and you to us.” He sighs and bites his knuckle, hiding a smile. “My gorgeous beta, you are so mistaken, but let me put your worries to rest.”

He stands up, drawing me with him. He takes my hand and leads me out of the room.

“Where are we going?”

“To rectify this situation,” Falcon says. “You have to understand, Nyx, the moment I decided I had to have you with Dylan, I would have bonded you in that moment. Prepare yourself, Beta, because this is your future. I am possessive and territorial, occasionally jealous, bossy, anal, I have likened myself to a dictator and to a tyrant. I expect perfection and honesty.”

“I want it all,” I snap. “I know you are, Falcon. I want you.”

He opens his bedroom door and brings me into the room. I expect him to lead me to the bed, but he doesn’t. He brings me to a chair that faces the window. Then he turns and looks at me.

“You are beautiful, miraculous. Accept this bond and join pack Treyfield. Be mine, Nyx. I need you, I want you. You’re my everything.”
