“I know. I just think we should convince her to come with us.”

Silas raises an eyebrow, and I scowl and cross my arms defensively.

“Fine, I just don't want her to be alone. We’re going to her gallery next week and then flying to the other side of the world. It just seems cruel.”

“She won’t be. Missy is here. Scarlet is in June Haven, not too far away. She’ll have Simon, Sven, Yvette, and Kandi. Hell, even Moira will be keeping tabs on her.”

I shift my shoulders, adjust myself so I'm closer, and lean my head on his shoulder.

“Your mother called again. She sent gifts and wants to know if we got the flowers,” I whine.

Silas laughs, a deep, evil sound that reaches inside me and turns me molten.

“What happened to the flowers, Si?” I reach out and run my fingers down his throat, then flick open the top button of his shirt.

“I threw them out,” Silas murmurs.

“I told Simon and Yvette I’m going into the office to work on Monday.”

Silas grumbles, “No. I’m not done with you yet.”

“It’s been months. We need to return to the world, besides, I have some ideas for the hotel-”

Silas slams his lips across mine and effectively makes me forget my next thought.

I break the kiss, snort a laugh at his grumpy face, and continue to slowly flick open the buttons of his shirt, working my hand inside. “Silver is doing well, too. I went and saw her. She actually apologised and didn’t look like the words would strike her dead.”

“I'm glad.”

“She refused my help. Is it bad that I'm glad she refused?”

“No. I don't think so. Silver betrayed your trust, and now she’s learning to atone and become her own person. It’s good she’s not leaning on you.”

“I know. Just years of my father’s voice in my ear. It’s okay. I'm ignoring it.”

“Uh-huh.”

I peer up at Silas and then look back at his chest. “You seem a bit distracted, Si.”

“You want to tell me what you’re doing in here, my cute little beta bunny?”

“I'm not a bunny!” I snap in outrage, but I shift my hips, moving myself higher on his lap.

He slips his hands under my shirt and cups my breasts. I moan and curl my hand around his shoulder.

“You’re so my bunny.” He stares at me with a dark light in his eyes and, with a smirk, leans closer, his hot breath on my ear. “I'm going to fill that belly of yours, too. Until we have a pack full of little bunnies. Yes, I think now. I’ll fuck a baby into you, starting right now,” Silas growls in my ear and scrapes his teeth over my neck. There’s so much intention, so much possessiveness, in that tone that I know that he means it.

My cheeks scorch, they burn. But my traitorous body lets out this wanton moan. There’s still this strange mix of arousal and horror when he starts talking like this. I'm leaning towards letting him put a baby in me. I mean, one couldn’t hurt, right? Ruby is super cute. No! No! What am I thinking?

“You’re not saying no!” Silas teases, his thumb flicks my nipple hard enough to draw a squeak.

My eyes shoot wide open, and I throw myself off his lap. “Uh,” I peer at him and lose my train of thought. His eyes have gone sultry and dark, and he’s giving me that look that makes my brain melt.

“Still not a no,” Silas says, his voice rolling with pleasure.

I swear, sweat breaks out on the back of my neck, but I still can’t form the word. The door opens, and Dylan slips in, looking between us suspiciously.

“You were supposed to delay and then bring him to us, Nyx.”
