I lean back thoughtfully. "Would you like to join me?"

Her head snaps up. "What? Really?! Yes!"

I watch as Mia's face lights up with excitement. She sits up straighter, her green eyes sparkling with anticipation. "I would love that," she says, grinning from ear to ear.

My lips quirk up at the sight of her enthusiasm. I realize how much I want her to be a part of my life and work. After all, she's already a part of my heart.

I grin at her enthusiastic response. "Are you sure?"

"Positive," she replies, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Okay," I say, amusement in my tone. "We go after dinner."

Suddenly, she's very, very hungry.

As we finish our dinner, the anticipation in Mia's eyes is unmistakable. She's excited to be a part of my world, and I can't help but admire her enthusiasm. I can't deny that it's sexy as hell.

I take her hand and lead her to the car, my body humming with anticipation. The adrenaline rush from the upcoming meeting mingles with the desire that's been simmering between us all night.

As we drive towards the meeting place, I steal glances at Mia sitting in the passenger seat. Her hair is tousled from the wind, and she looks more beautiful than ever. I can't resist running a hand through her hair, enjoying the feel of silky strands beneath my fingers.

Mia leans into my touch, a soft sigh escaping her lips. I feel a jolt of desire rocket through me at the sound. Suddenly, this meeting feels like an afterthought compared to what I want to do to her - what I want her to do to me.

I pull up to the nondescript building where the meeting is set to take place. We exit the car and make our way inside, where several of our allies are waiting.

"Hello, everyone." I greet them plainly. "Let's get started."

As we take our seats around the large, dark-wood conference table, I can sense the tension in the air. The allies are all here, ready to discuss our mutual enemy and come up with an action plan. I feel Mia's hand slip into mine under the table, and I welcome the grounding warmth of her touch.

The talk begins with a brief rundown of the rival's recent activities and efforts to undermine our organization. We listen intently, gathering as much information as possible. As we begin to discuss possible strategies for countering their moves, I feel Mia's quiet strength beside me, an unwavering presence that helps steel my resolve.

Suddenly, one of our allies speaks up. "I have a suggestion," he says hesitantly. "It's a bit unconventional - some might say it's risky - but hear me out."

He goes on to outline his idea, which involves directly confronting our rival in a public and dramatic way. I can see that some of the other allies are uncertain, but I find myself intrigued by the thought of such a bold move.

Mia leans into me, whispering softly in my ear, "What do you think?"

I turn to her, my gaze intense. "I think it's time we show them what we're made of," I say, my voice low with desire.

My mind starts to wander. I'm distracted by the ache between my legs that's been growing stronger with every passing minute. It's been a while since Mia and I had sex, and all this pent-up energy is making me restless.

I glance at her from the corner of my eye, taking in the curve of her hips and the way her dress hugs her figure like a second skin. My fingers twitch with the need to run over every inch of her body.

Asense of unease creeps into my mind as I observe Xavier and his allies discussing their plans regarding their rival. Their serious expressions and hushed conversations create a heavy atmosphere, one that gradually dampens the happiness I had been feeling earlier.

Xavier raises a hand, calling for their attention. "Listen, everyone," he begins, his voice steady yet filled with a touch of gravity. "Decisions need to be made swiftly. We need to act before they do."

An older man, his brow furrowed, speaks up first. "We can't afford to underestimate them," he cautions, his voice laced with a hint of apprehension. "Their recent activities suggest they might be planning something big."

The reality of their world, filled with violence and danger, begins to overshadow my thoughts. It's a stark reminder of the risks they face and the potential consequences that could affect us all. Thoughts of their safety, as well as our own, weigh heavily on my mind.

I reach over and touch his arm, asking for his attention. He turns toward me, brows raised in question.

"I know I don't really understand a lot of what you have to do," I begin carefully, choosing my words with the utmost consideration. "But the kind of violence you're talking about? It's hard for me not to worry about your safety, about all of us."
