"Let's move."

As we make our way towards the rendezvous point, my thoughts drift back to Mia. I can't help but wonder what she's going through right now. Is she scared? Is she hurt? Is she even still alive?

I push those thoughts aside, focusing on the task at hand. We have a job to do, and we need to be at our absolute best if we're going to succeed.

Finally, we reach the location where the three teams are waiting. They nod in greeting, their faces expressionless. We don't have time for pleasantries - we need to get this done quickly and quietly.

Lucas gives us a quick rundown of the plan before splitting us into groups. Alpha Team will lead the charge through the tunnels, while Bravo Team will enter from the back door and Charlie Team will enter from the front. Xavier and I will be part of a small group that will enter from the side.

We make our way towards our entry point, moving as quietly as possible. The adrenaline is pumping through my veins now, and I know that every moment counts.

We wait outside the door for what feels like eternity until a voice crackles through our headsets. "Cleared for entry. Move out."

LUCAS

"Move out!" I repeat mutedly, signaling for Antonio to open the door.

I move in first, scanning the area. Then Xavier, then Antonio.

"She's on one of the top floors," I tell them, gesturing to the stairs.

They nod wordlessly following my lead. With each step, we ascend higher, our senses on high alert. The air grows heavy with anticipation as we inch closer to our destination. Adrenaline courses through our veins, fueling our determination to rescue Mia and put an end to the Petrov family's reign of terror.

"Enemies engaged," another voice comes through.

As we reach the upper floors, I motion for us to pause, a hand raised as a signal to proceed cautiously. We huddle together, our eyes meeting in silent communication. I convey our next move through subtle gestures and whispered instructions. We move as one unit, like shadows in the night, a well oiled machine from years of working together. It comes effortlessly for us.

Reaching the last floor, we turn out of the stairs and are met with a group of men lingering outside one of the doors. They're all calm, oblivious to the infiltration, and we're able to take them unawares.

With a swift strike, Antonio disarms the first man by knocking the gun out of his hand. Not a second passes before Xavier launches into action, grabbing the second man's arm and pinning him to the ground. The third man tries to lunge at me with a knife, but I quickly dodge his attack and counter with a roundhouse kick that sends him flying backwards.

As the fourth man charges towards us, I catch him in a chokehold, squeezing my arms until he falls unconscious. Another one tries to escape through a hidden stairway, but Antonio is already hot on his heels, tackling him down the stairs.

In mere minutes, we have managed to neutralize our enemies without any real injuries sustained on our end. The four men are restrained and tied up in a matter of seconds.

"Good job," I say as we head towards Mia's door.

Antonio nods, sweat beading on his forehead. "They were no match for us."

"Yeah," Xavier chimes in with a grin. "Always satisfying to see them fall like dominos."

I roll my eyes but can't hide my smile. It feels good to work with them, though I hate to admit it, knowing they're this good at their job. People I can trust with my life.

Without hesitation, I kick open the door and charge inside. The room is completely dark, windowless, and the only light is coming through the doorway.

"Mia?" I call desperately. "Are you in here?"

No answer. I flick on my night-vision, looking around the empty room frantically until I notice a lump in the corner. I move towards it, my heart in my throat. As I draw near, the lump resolves itself into a huddled shape. It's Mia. She's curled up tight on the ground, barely clothed, her arms wrapped around herself as she shivers violently.

"Mia," I whisper softly, crouching down beside her. She jerks at the sound of my voice, head snapping up to look at me with wide, tear-filled eyes.

She stares at me for a moment, then launches herself into my arms, clinging to me like her life depends on it. I hold her tightly to me, stroking her hair softly as she sobs.

"Lucas," she sobs. "I-I thought you weren't coming."

"I'm here now," I tell her, gathering her into my arms. She clings to me fiercely, burying her face in my chest.
