With the finger of one hand buried between her legs and the fingers of the other pinching her nipple, Margo closed her eyes, threw her head back, and opened her mouth in a silent scream.

As her body shivered with the force of her climax, Negal's orgasm hit him like a thunderbolt, barreling through his body, and as he erupted, he grabbed a sponge and bit into it.

The soapy taste should have killed the fantasy, but it didn't. All he saw behind his closed lids was Margo's head thrown back and his fangs embedded deep in her creamy white neck.

As long as the images kept playing in his head, the climax kept going. His mind refused to let go, and his hand refused to release his shaft until there was nothing more to milk. The problem was that he didn't need long to recuperate, and in less than a minute, he was going at it again.

Negal lost count of how many times he had orgasmed, and when he was finally done, he was glad on two counts. One was that he was in the shower, and the mess he'd made would be easy to clean up. The second one was that his mind was clearer than it had been for the past two days, so maybe now he could get a handle on things and free himself from the obsession called Margo.

KIAN

"Good afternoon, my esteemed colleagues," Kalugal said as he entered Toven's cabin, which was still functioning as their makeshift war room.

Kian regarded his cousin. "You look good for someone who hasn't slept since yesterday."

Kalugal's hair was wet, and he was wearing fresh clothing, indicating that he had taken a shower before coming to report. Max, who had arrived a few minutes earlier, was still covered in dirt and makeup and was wearing a pair of khaki pants with frayed edges.

"I wish I could say the same about you." Kalugal scanned their faces as he pulled out a chair across from Kian and sat down. "Where is the kid genius?"

"Roni is done for now," Onegus said. "He was anxious to reunite with his mate and see for himself that she wasn't hurt."

Kalugal arched a brow. "Sylvia traveled with me, Dalhu, and three gods. What could have happened to her?"

"Not much," Kian admitted.

Still, he could empathize with Roni. If it had been Syssi out there, he would have been tearing his hair out from worry.

"I'm glad you agree." Kalugal slanted a look at the coffee carafe. "Is that fresh?"

Since he could no doubt smell that it was, the question was meant as a hint that he wanted some.

"It is." Onegus pushed to his feet. "I'll get you a mug."

"Thank you." Kalugal dipped his head in appreciation. "So, if Roni is done, I assume that the Silver Swan's travel itinerary has been fixed."

Turner nodded. "It was. According to the doctored records, the ship was never intended to stop at Cabo San Lucas. Unless anything new comes up, we are going to stay tonight and the entire day tomorrow in Puerto Vallarta and then continue to Ensenada. One of my contractors will watch the Ensenada port and report any suspicious activity. Another one is checking the Cabo area. If we are lucky, the Doomers will get tired of waiting for us to show up and leave."

Kalugal frowned. "What about Carlos? He's in Cabo, right?"

"Not for long," Turner said. "As soon as he hears about his brother's spiritual rebirth, he will head home faster than a speeding bullet." He chuckled. "Pun intended."

Kian shook his head. "We don't want Carlos to kill Julio. We need the older Modana alive to do all that humanitarian work in Acapulco."

"I was just joking." Turner reached for the carafe and refilled his mug.

Exhaustion had a strange effect on the guy. Instead of getting cranky like the rest of them, he seemed to loosen up. He'd been smiling and cracking jokes for the past couple of hours, and it was a little freaky, given how humorless and focused on the task at hand he usually was.

"Speaking of spiritual awakening, your thralling and compulsion are still working their magic," Onegus told Kalugal. "The guys in the control center reported that Modana and his men are praying and asking the Madonna for forgiveness. Modana even vowed to build a chapel in his mansion and bring in a priest to assist them on their journey from sinners to sainthood."

Kalugal pursed his lips in a mock affront. "Did you expect it not to work?"

The chief shrugged. "When it goes against everything a person holds dear, compulsion and thralling might unravel sooner than later. If it was that simple to turn evildoers into good people, we could have had hundreds of Doomers serving in our army instead of slumbering in stasis in our catacombs."

Kalugal smoothed a hand over his goatee. "Compared to most of those Doomers, Modana is a baby bad guy. He hasn't been doing bad things for as long as they did. Also, he was raised in a religious home, so I didn't have to create something from nothing, and the same was true for most of his men."

"Given the right slant, religion can be used for good." Kian sighed. "As long as it holds life sacred, that is. Regrettably, that's not always the case."
