Frankie gave him a thumbs-up, but the smirk on her face was for Margo. She was probably waiting for Toven to leave to ask Margo what she'd been doing in Negal's arms.

She was wrong.

Frankie didn't wait to ask. "What were you doing in Negal's arms?"

"I fainted, and he caught me."

Mia groaned. "We were in such a rush to tell you about all of this that we didn't ask you about your experience. Tomorrow, you are going to tell us everything." She glanced at the new phone that Toven had brought for Margo. "Or even better, I'll call you later."

"Not fair," Frankie said. "I want to hear all about it too, but as soon as I'm back in bed, I'll fall asleep. I'm so tired."

"Call me when you wake up." Margo took the device and put it in her purse. "Thank you again for the phone."

She could call anyone on the ship, but she couldn't make outside calls, which meant that she still couldn't call her family and tell them that she was alive.

"You're welcome." Toven moved aside to let Mia through. "Are you coming to the wedding tonight?"

Margo thought back to the exchange between Negal and the nurse. Gertrude had asked him if they were still on for tonight, and Negal had said sure. It would be too upsetting to watch them dance, or worse, smooch on the dance floor and then leave together.

Frankie and Mia were all about making a match between her and Negal, and it was sweet of them, but he wasn't into her.

"I think I'll pass. I'm tired, and besides, I have nothing to wear."

"You can have any dress of mine you want." Frankie waved her hand at the door to her bedroom. "I have many to choose from."

"Even if I wanted to attend the party and provided that I could squeeze into one of your dresses, I wouldn't be able to squeeze into your shoes. You have ridiculously small feet."

"Come to the party," Mia implored. "It's a great opportunity to meet everyone in an informal setting."

Margo let out a breath. "I'll think about it. But first, I need to get Frankie to the clinic and visit Jasmine. I'm worried about her." She offered Frankie a hand up and helped her into the wheelchair.

"Call me," Mia said before heading to the door. "If you decide to come, Toven and I will come to get you so you don't have to enter the event hall alone."

"Thank you." Margo waited for the two of them to leave before crouching in front of Frankie. "Do you need anything to take with you to the clinic?"

"I have everything I need down there except for Dagor. I should just call him and see what's going on."

"Do it now. I can wait."

"No, it's fine. I'll wait for Toven to wake him up. He will call me right away."

It suddenly occurred to Margo that the nurse might be in the clinic, but then, she had nothing against the woman. The immortal. She seemed like a nice person.

"Let's get you down there." She pushed Frankie's chair toward the door and opened it. "Can I ask you a favor?"

"Anything," Frankie said.

"I need to let my family know that I'm okay, but Kevin, I mean Kalugal, said that I can't call them for some reason. Something about the cartel thugs finding out about this ship. Is there a way you can call Lynda for me and ask her to tell Rob and my parents?"

Frankie was quiet for a moment. "Calling them might not be a good idea, but I can call my cousin Angelica and ask her to stop by and deliver the message in person. She can tell them that you can't call, but we will have to come up with an excuse why. Any suggestions?"

"First of all, thank you. You are a genius for thinking about your cousin delivering the message in person. And as for the excuse, you can tell Angelica about Jasmine and what Alberto tried to do to her and that I was involved, but we both got away, and now we are in a witness protection program until the bad guys get arrested and that's why I can't call them. Just don't mention any names."

"Sounds good to me. The elevators are that way." Frankie pointed in the opposite direction.

"Right." Margo turned the chair around. "So, how do I tell the immortals from the humans? Everyone who's gorgeous is an immortal, and everyone who is not is a human?"

Frankie chuckled. "More or less. The human staff know about us. It's just the rescued women who don't, and the advice Kri gave Jasmine goes for you, too. Unless you speak Spanish, there isn't much you can do for them. When you see them in the dining hall or the staff lounge, just smile and be nice."
