Since arriving on Earth, Aru had spent so much time with Dagor and Negal that it was odd that their absence bothered him, especially since he had his mate in his arms, but out of everyone on Earth, the three of them were the only ones who were alike, and like gravitated toward like.

Dagor was with Frankie at the clinic, and Aru had seen Negal with Margo heading to the terrace, but that had been a while ago, and they hadn't returned yet.

Hopefully, things were going well between them.

Negal seemed to be taken with the woman, and it couldn't have made her friends happier, but Aru wondered about how it was going to turn out. Negal wasn't like him or Dagor, and he seemed satisfied with his life as a trooper and a bachelor. He hadn't been looking for a mate, but then neither had Dagor or Aru.

The Fates were busy matchmaking, and since they had done wonderfully for him, he trusted them to do the same for his friend, but it wasn't without complications. Their trip to Tibet was turning into an expedition, and Aru had a feeling that he would have to hire some locals to help them on the way. The ladies wouldn't like to rough it like he and his buddies were used to doing. They would need tents, and inflatable mattresses under the sleeping bags, and some yaks would be needed to carry all that equipment.

"Aru." Gabi snapped her fingers in front of his face. "Where did you go just now?"

He arched a brow. "I'm right here."

"Your body might be here, standing in the middle of the dance floor and swaying from side to side, but your mind was somewhere else."

"I'm sorry." He put his hand on the small of her back. "I was thinking about the logistics of traveling through Tibet with three ladies and how to make it more comfortable for you."

Gabi laughed. "So, you've already decided that Negal and Margo are fated for each other?"

"I didn't decide anything, but the Fates' hands seem to be involved. Do you see them anywhere?"

Gabi looked around the room. "I don't see the Fates or Margo and Negal." She leaned into him and whispered. "Do you think they snuck out and went to her cabin?"

Aru pretended to be offended. "I don't follow the love lives of my teammates. I only make plans accordingly."

Gabi said something to him, but he couldn't hear her because he was distracted by the sensation of the channel in his mind opening.

Can you talk? Aria asked.

Give me a few moments, he answered.

I will wait. It is important.

"Forgive me, love." He leaned down to Gabi's ear. "I need to visit the men's room."

She looked surprised because she was usually the one who needed frequent bathroom breaks. "Did you eat something that disagreed with your stomach?"

Aru hated lying to her. "Evidently." He winced.

Looking worried, she waved him off. "Go. I'll wait for you at our table."

He smiled. "Save some of the appetizers for me."

After leaving Gabi at their table, he rushed out of the dining hall and into the nearest bathroom.

It wasn't as if anyone could hear his mental conversation with his sister, but he looked like he was zoning out when he was talking to her, and people noticed.

Entering one of the stalls, he closed the door, lowered the lid on the toilet, and sat down.

I am alone. What is going on?

The queen is ready to talk with her granddaughter. The day after tomorrow, same time as now.

This wasn't good. That would be during another wedding, and although Annani would be done officiating a little after midnight, the party would continue, and if he and Kian left so early, it would look suspicious.

There was no doubt in Aru's mind that Kian would want to be present. The guy was extremely protective of his mother, and he wouldn't want her to be alone with Aru.

He would have to coordinate a good excuse with Kian, maybe something in connection to the cartel boss and his despicable brother.
