Stop it, Penelope!

Then I decide to give myself some grace. It’s been a while since I’ve had any. None of the men I've tried dating since Win signed off for good were even close to keeping my interest and soon enough, I just gave up. It's been over six months since the last time I was with a man so it's no surprise that I’m easy to rile up right about now.

You’re only imagining Slade because you don’t know what Win looks like. That’s all. Don’t beat yourself up about it.

I coach myself out of the little bit of self-loathing I’m starting to feel for having more fantasies about the devil himself sitting at the bar across the room from me.

SkatrGirlPen: And then what?

WinTheDay067: I would have wrapped your fingers around my cock to let you feel how hard you make me.

The memory of Slade's dripping wet cock in the shower comes to mind.

My eyes flutter closed, and I imagine walking into the shower with Slade and sliding my fingers over his smooth erection.

SkatrGirlPen: What would you have done next?

I take a sip of my wine as I wait anxiously, crossing my right leg over the other and squeezing to keep my clit from pulsating.

WinTheDay067: I would have asked you if you wanted it from behind while on your knees with your face in the pillow or if you’d prefer riding me, while I fuck you from the bottom position.

I practically do a spit take when I read his text, except I inhale it, too.

I choke on the wine as I cough dramatically, gripping the lacquered bar height table with one hand while trying not to pass out from lack of oxygen and keel over the barstool.

My other hand starts to slap my chest to get the liquid out of my lungs.

“Are you ok?” Briggs says, racing over to me from the pool table where he’s the closest.

Tessa jumps off her barstool a few chairs down and runs to me. She starts patting my back, thinking that something might be lodged in my throat.

In my peripheral vision, I see Slade rush past the women, keeping close in case he decides to give them the time of day and make a beeline for me with long strides.

“Hey, are you alright?” he asks, his eyes on me and then pinging to my open cell phone.

I hide it quickly, realizing that anyone could have seen it.

“I’m fine! I’m fine!” I tell Tessa, Briggs, Autumn, and Slade, who are all hovering around me, to make sure I’m alright. “I just choked on my wine—no harm done… I promise.”

I clear my throat a couple more times.

“Do you need something? I can ask Lake to order you a pretzel and cheese or something. Maybe you need to eat.” Tessa says.

I wave her off immediately.

“Really, I’m fine, thanks. But I think I’ve had enough celebrations for tonight,” I say, sliding off my seat. “I’m going to call it a night and head home.”

“You want to leave already?” Autumn asks.

“We’ll have a whole week of celebration when the guys get us into playoffs; I should reserve my energy,” I tell her with a wink.

But really, I’m a little embarrassed that I started sexting with my old online crush and choked on my own wine like a blushing virgin.

Amateur.

Briggs places his hand on my shoulder. “Do you want me to drive you home? I can walk back after I park your car in the parking garage. I haven’t touched the beer I ordered yet.”

“Thank you but it’s fine. I didn’t even drink half of my wine. I’ll be fine,” I tell him.
