Page 2 of Brotherly Love

Sipping the strong alcohol, I look at my brother. “You know we can slow down whenever you want to.”

His throat bobs and he shakes his head. “Nah, modeling is so fickle. We shouldn’t really be turning offers down as they’re rolling in, especially since we’re a few years off from the big three oh.”

I bite my tongue. He knows how much money we invested when he landed his first big break. He could quit now, and live off his account comfortably. And the percentage I’ve taken from managing him would allow me the luxury of not hurrying to find another client.

“Be right back. Need to take a leak,” he says, leaving his untouched drink on the counter.

He didn’t even make it to the hallway before someone slipped into his seat.

My gaze turns to the pretty brunette who had sided up to me.

“Hi,” she whispers huskily, pouting her red-lined lips.

“Hello.” I take a small sip of my scotch, waiting to see what else she has to say.

Her eyes follow along my scar for a brief second before shifting to look me straight on. “I heard we have to get through you if we want a night with Hayden Pritcher.”

My whole body stiffens and I barely control the urge to crash the glass in my fist. “Get through me?”

She nods, picking up Hayden’s drink and taking a sip. I glare at her and she smiles. “Yeah, you’re like his big, bad, scary guard dog.”

I know it’s a figure of speech, but being compared to a dog regardless is another hit to my wounded pride. I take the drink from her hand, waving to the bartender for a new one. Leaning forward, I stare at her directly as I speak in a low and sinister tone.

“I weed out the desperate, pathetic women who think spreading their legs for a single night is going to mean anything but an open hole to fall into. You could have the tightest, prettiest pussy around here, but you’re nothing other than a quick fuck. Something my brother can easily pay for without the complications of the confused, delusional feelings of a stupid girl who thought she got a golden ticket.”

She pales, sucking in a sharp breath.

Someone clears their throat and I look up, meeting Hayden’s bright and amused gaze.

“Playing nice, brother?” he asks.

The woman turns to him, wiping the previous apprehension off her face. “We were just having a quick chat, waiting for you.”

His eyebrows raise. “Yeah, what about?”

She blinks, stutters for a moment, and then says. “About you two taking me back to your hotel.”

Hayden’s head jerks back, stunned. He glances at me. “You agreed to a threesome?”

I didn’t, but something tells me that she’s banking on me declining. So I bare my teeth, knowing my sneer is unpleasant. “I did.”

The woman flinches slightly, enough that I catch it, but Hayden remains oblivious.

My brother grins. “Well, I’ll be damned. I never thought the day would come. Forget the drinks, let’s go.”

Hayden turns to the door, and I catch the woman’s elbow as she slides off the stool. Her stare is timid as she looks up at me.

“Be careful what you wish for. I bite,” I say before barking at her as she scurries after Hayden. Laughing, I down the rest of the scotch, drop some large bills on the counter, and follow them out.

Chapter Two

When we get to the hotel, I have her sign an NDA and all the other usual paperwork before stepping into my room. I won’t risk letting her into Hayden’s suite. He rubs his hands together with excitement as we walk into the bedroom.

I sigh, sitting down as she pauses near the doorway. Hayden waits patiently behind her.

“You still want to do this?” he asks. I’m unsure if it’s directed at me or her.

The woman nods, stepping closer but glancing at me hesitantly.
