Page 35 of His Damaged Purpose

“Yes. Like that.” He pushed back again.

I thrust in and out of him, going fast and hard, my omega encouraging with his words, needy grunts, groans, and whimpers, and his moves.

“Need. Please,” he begged, and I reached down, wrapping my hand around his cock and giving it a jerk, then another. That was all it took and his cum was shooting out as he called out my name. I helped him ride out his orgasm, my own following suit, leaving us both sweaty, boneless piles of limbs, connected together by my knot.

I reached down and pulled the covers over us.

“Thanks for the deer.” He kissed my hand. “I kinda liked it.”

“Thanks for the yoga. I kinda liked it, too.”

“I can see that.” He twisted his head to look at me. “I love you, alpha mine.”

“I love you, omega yoga expert mine.”

He chuckled softly, and the two of us drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 18

Pol

The shrill sound of my alarm woke me from my deep sleep. I was used to hearing perimeter alarms go off. It didn’t happen often. But when you were the omega on call, you could expect to get a few alarms waking you up in the middle of the night.

That didn’t mean I loved it. I was at the point in my pregnancy where all I wanted to do was sleep. Being ripped from my sleep was hardly ideal. But this was my job, and I took it seriously, so up I was.

“What in the hell is that?” Silas asked as he bolted upright. He sprang from the bed, fur erupting on his arms as if he was going to shift to his lion form right there. Knowing him, he might.

I chuckled. “Nothing. Just a perimeter alarm. I have to go check it out because I’m on call. Go back to bed.” I gave him a peck on the cheek. “Sleepies time.”

He didn’t move.

“Do you go alone?” he asked.

He knew, of course, that we rotated who was on call for such events. This week was my week. This wasn’t new information, but also this situation had only ever been a hypothetical one to him before. Now that it was happening, of course he had thoughts.

“No, two of us always go. Jasper’s on call with me, so he’ll come along.”

“How about I go with you?” he asked.

“That’s not necessary, nor is it your job. Go back to sleep.”

He shrugged. “I’m awake anyways. It’ll give my animal a chance to get out. I need to familiarize myself with the territory anyway.”

His beast knew every inch of this property. This was nothing more than an excuse to be an overprotective alpha. And while I appreciated the thought behind it, I both didn’t have time and wasn’t in the mood for it. But also, the sooner I got back the better.

“Well, if you want to, you’re more than welcome to.” I’d given up fighting it. “If you want to be overprotective, go for it. I get to see your lion, so I’m not going to complain.

“What’s usually out there? It’s not dangerous, is it?”

So much for me talking him down.

“Nothing too exciting. Wild animals, the occasional shifter drifting by wondering what’s out here. Once in a while a fallen branch.”

In response he climbed out of bed. We didn’t bother getting dressed, instead walking out into the evening air ready to shift to our animal forms.

Jasper waited outside my house. He was already in his leopard form. He had the pack at his feet that we always took with us on perimeter checks. Especially ones in the middle of the night.

“Silas is going to tag along,” I said. Jasper had a protective alpha too. That was probably all the explanation he needed.
