I shake my head. I wish I could remember. It captures us both at a moment that the love shines through our eyes. The sun is sparkling off the lake, and it’s beautiful in print and paint.
“I know exactly where I’m going to hang it.”
He takes my hand and I follow him back to the family room. He lets my hand go and takes down the canvas from over the fire. He replaces it with the picture I just gave him. Clay wraps his arm around my shoulder, and I lean into him. Anything to take the pressure off my back and feet.
“I couldn’t have picked a better spot for it,” says Clay.
Everyone admires the picture and I sit down on my favorite seat of them all – the double love seat still sitting at the glass doors. It’s freezing outside, but feeling cozy inside is bliss.
Today is working out better than I originally planned.

We’ve talked, laughed, and eaten so much food. I literally can’t move from the love seat at the door. I’m watching everyone play Charades, and Clay is failing miserably. I’m giggling at his impression of a fish.
“Jaws!” Chris shouts out.
“Shawshank Redemption,” says Spencer.
Caleb lifts my feet up and sits down, leaning my feet over his legs. He was getting Mike, Amber, and their families a drink. They decided to join us tonight after all.
“Are you okay, babe? You’ve gone quiet sitting over here.”
I nod, dropping my head to the side into the cushions. “I’m just taking five minutes out. I’m good. Your brother isn’t very good at Charades.” I laugh.
“No change there then.”
He rubs my feet gently; little soft moans escape my mouth.
“You have magic hands. That feels amazing. Do you think they’d work on backs?” I say half-jokingly.
“I don’t know, but we can sure try them out when everyone leaves.”
I feel my heart warming to Caleb’s words.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop,” says Angelina, Mike’s sister, as she walks over to us. “I’m a physiotherapist. Have you tried taping up your bump? I see a lot of pregnant women because the center of mass changes causing issues with pelvic areas, backs, even ankles. If you take some of the pressure off with the tape it could help with the back pain. It only takes a few moments to do, and it can come off anytime.”
“I haven’t tried anything other than hot baths, but it only works while I’m in the water.”
“I’ll stop by tomorrow and try it if you like. I’ll have some in my bag back at home.”
“Really? You don’t mind?” I ask.
“Of course not. I’ll call Caleb before I come over.” She smiles brightly.
“Thank you. I really appreciate it.”
“Anytime.” She turns and joins everyone else.
Caleb leans into me and whispers in my ear. “You’ll just have to put up with my hands tonight.” He winks at me.
I don’t know why, but the thought of Caleb’s hands on me sets a flame burning in my stomach, and it’s getting harder and harder to ignore.

“Eurgh! I didn’t think everyone was going to leave.” Caleb sighs as he enters the living room. He holds his hands out for me and helps to pull me up.
“I still have about four months of this. I’m never going to survive,” I moan.
