She played the role of the submissive perfectly in the bedroom, but beneath her gentle exterior lay a dangerous and unforgiving woman. Those who dared to cross her would face dire consequences. I leaned in toward Ian, whispering, “Are you really going to let her do this?”

“Let her?” Ian’s lips curled into a sly smirk as he nodded toward her. “I’m about to unleash her on their whole fucking family.”

She held the glinting knife up to James’s face, just inches above his left eye. “Now, be still or I’ll have to have someone hold you still.”

He thrashed and tried to bite her, but I quickly sprang forward and pinned his head down for her. I didn’t need Ian’s permission. It was clear what needed to be done. I couldn’t risk her being injured, although I didn’t blame James for fighting back one bit. If I were in his position, I would fight with everything in me.

“Thank you, Daddy,” she sneered at me with a wicked smile.

I winked at her playfully before she pressed the blade against his skin again, drawing blood as she dragged it over his eye and stopped beside his nose. He screamed and struggled against my grip, but I held him firmly in place. Blood trickled down his face and into my hand.

“You fucking cunt!” he roared, causing me to tighten my grip on him until it almost hurt.

“Now for the other eye,” she said coldly as she brought the knife above his right eye and repeated the same brutal X-pattern while he cried out in pain.

I grabbed his hair and yanked his head back, exposing his vulnerable neck. In one swift motion, she slashed his cheek just under his eye, leaving a deep gash that immediately bled. His head fell forward, and blood dripped down, creating a pool of crimson on his lap.

She dropped the knife to the floor and spun around to face Ian. “I want to let him go.”

“What?!” Chance and Tyler shouted simultaneously.

She nodded. “I want him to run back to them looking like that as a message. I know Dante well enough to know it’ll bring him out of hiding. It might be our only chance to find him.”

Ian shook his head. “I’m not doing that.”

“What if we compromise?” I interjected.

All eyes turned to me, eagerly waiting for my idea.

“Let him loose right now. I’ll fight him. If he survives, we let him go back to them as a message. Let’s do what the Italians do.”

Nico snorted while Ian chewed on his inner cheek, lost in thought.

“He won’t survive you,” Chance stated.

“There’s a chance he might,” I shrugged.

“Baby,” Jade stepped closer, taking my bloody hands in hers. “Please don’t do this.”

“Would you have listened to me if I told you not to do what you just did?” I challenged her.

She rolled her eyes but didn’t argue further.

“Exactly,” I growled, turning back to Ian. “I’ll play by your rules. But let him fight.”

He offered a single nod before striding over to James and barking orders at him. “Look at me!”

With a shaky head, James lifted his gaze to meet Ian’s stern one.

“I know you. I’ve seen you fight,” Ian growled, his steely gaze fixed on James. “You better give it one hundred and fifty percent. If you don’t walk out of here, I’ll chop you up and mail a piece of you to every fucking person you know, including the wives and kids.” His voice dripped with malice and his words hung heavily in the air. “When my son grows up, I’ll make sure he and his friends hunt down every fucking descendant you have. Our kids are the same ages, and I don’t believe in harming kids, but I’ll train my son to take my place one day. And he’ll murder Christopher.” His voice was low and deadly serious. The mention of their sons sent shivers down everyone’s spine. The war would never end.

Ian locked eyes with James, daring him to challenge his authority. James puckered his lips, spitting at Ian, and it landed on the thigh of his jeans. Ian’s face remained impassive, as if he had expected it.

“Dylan won’t come near Christopher!” James countered. “I’ll make sure he’s dead before then. They might play by your rules,” he lifted his chin at all of us, “but I won’t play by them.” He lifted his gaze to me. “Let me loose.” Nico strode over with a knife, cutting him free, and he stood, kicking the metal chair across the cement floor.

Removing my jacket, I tossed it to the side, then slipped my shirt over my head, throwing it on top of it.

“I’ll fight you,” James continued, “but the minute I walk out of here, I’m sending the whole fucking family to all your houses to kill every one of the people you love.”
