Emrys flexes his arms wordlessly, making his point clear. Subtle as always.

I finish my coffee to hide my flustered reaction. "Right. Well, I should get ready."

Making my escape to the bedroom, I take a steadying breath. A day of family activities and watching three attractive, off-limits men in nothing but swim trunks? This day is sure to test my limits.

But it's only a game, I remind myself. I can handle a little friendly family volleyball tournament.

Hopefully.

After changing into a breezy sundress, I meet Annabelle in the lobby. She links her arm through mine as we head for the outdoor brunch area, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Soooo, how are things going with the three boyfriends?" She teases, drawing out the word boyfriends.

I roll my eyes. "You know very well they are not my actual boyfriends."

Annabelle shrugs. "Could have fooled me. You four looked pretty cozy last night."

I flush at the memory of slow dancing with Wyatt, our bodies pressed close. "It's an act. That's what they're paid for."

"Uh huh. So which one's the best kisser?"

"Annabelle!" I admonish, though I can't help wondering the same thing.

She cackles. "You should give them all a test run. For research purposes." She waggles her brows outrageously.

"You are shameless," I sigh.

"So you haven't kissed any of them since that first time?" She actually sounds surprised.

"Of course not!"

Annabelle frowns. "Emrys seemed pretty...enthusiastic when he met Mom."

I flush crimson remembering his forceful kiss. "That was just for show. It didn't mean anything."

Annabelle looks ready to continue grilling me, when Naomi's shrill voice calling our names gratefully interrupts. Saved by the belled bridesmaid. Who would have thought?

As we paste on smiles and join the other ladies, I pointedly ignore my sister's probing gaze. I need mimosas, stat. Something tells me it's going to be a long day.

Naomi envelops us in an overenthusiastic hug, her floral perfume cloying. "Eeeek, you made it! Come sit, we saved you spots!"

She guides us over to a table where two other bridesmaids, Sierra and Amy, are already sipping mimosas. I've met them briefly at other wedding events over the years. Sierra offers me a timid smile while Amy gives an exaggerated eye roll at Naomi's exuberance.

"Can you believe it's finally wedding time? I'm so nerv-cited!" Naomi titters, settling into her seat. "What do your cards say about this week, Sierra?"

Sierra flushes, tucking a lock of mousy brown hair behind her ear. She’s well aware that Naomi is only bringing them up to poke fun at her. The bitch. "Oh, um, just the usual. Love and happiness."

"I figured there would be a shift in your voodoo stuff, you know, with Kathryn's men," Naomi continues breezily. Then she gasps dramatically. "Did you really bring three boyfriends? Together?"

I resist the urge to roll my eyes as she stares at me eagerly.

"I mean, not that I'm judging," she rushes to add in a way that implies the opposite. "I've just never heard of anything so...alternative."

I level her with an icy look. "I don't believe my love life requires your approval, Naomi."

Amy almost chokes on her mimosa trying not to laugh while Sierra studies the tablecloth.

Naomi's eyes widen innocently. "Of course not! I just meant-"
