But even as the thought crosses my mind, another invades me.

They say you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone, but what if that's not true?

What if you know exactly what you want...and then you get it all at once?

Riding in like harbingers of chaos, three irresistible men who–together–seem to perfectly balance the chaos they create within me.

I know exactly what I want, and have it resting in the palm of my hand, but what if there’s no way to keep it?

Chapter 35

"Kat! You're just in time. I was just about to pack up." Aunt Sarah–our family seamstress–and a woman with more pins in her mouth than I have hairs on my head, greets me with muffled enthusiasm. Today is the final check on all of the bridal party dresses, which is giving me the perfect time to be away from the guys and figure out what the fuck I’m going to do.

I step onto the pedestal in front of the three-way mirror, the cool whisper of fabric sliding over my skin as she drapes the gown over me. It fits like a fantasy, every curve hugged, every line celebrated. If only dealing with my tangled love life was this seamless.

"Stand still, darling," she instructs, her hands deftly tucking and smoothing.

"Easy for you to say," I mutter, barely audible, my gaze locked on my reflection.

The seamstress begins pinning something at the hip, but I'm only half there, the rest of me hurtling toward D-day. How do I even start the conversation?

Hey guys, funny story, turns out I've fallen for all of you. Surprise! Yeah, that’ll go over well.

Wilder's face flashes in my mind—those mischievous eyes, always dancing with secret laughter. He'd gotten under my skin with his carefree charm and unexpected depth. Then there's Wyatt, steady as a rock, his intense steel gray gaze and quiet strength something I’ve come to rely on. And finally there’s Emrys. With his passionate soul and fiery touch, he completes this impossible puzzle.

"Kat, are you holding your breath?" Sarah clucks, eyeing me critically.

"Feels like it," I confess, releasing a pent-up sigh.

"Relax, dear. The dress won't bite."

If only it were the dress I was worried about.

"Right. Relax," I echo, forcing my shoulders down from around my ears.

I practice the words silently, watching my lips form them in the mirror.

I think I’m falling for you all. I can’t choose.

Sounds like a line from a reality show nobody would believe. But this isn't some scripted drama–this is my heart on the line, raw and achingly real.

"Is the waist too tight?" She’s squinting at my midsection, but my thoughts are miles away, tangled up with three men who've turned my world upside down. And my brand new kitten, Luna, who is currently being treated to the good life by a team of staff until I can take her home.

Because, duh, I’m keeping her. When the cat distribution system calls, you answer.

"No, it's perfect," I say, meaning more than just the dress. Because despite the chaos, the things I’m feeling are perfect in their own messy way.

"Good. I don’t think we’ll have to do any last minute adjustments here." She steps back, scrutinizing her work with a satisfied nod.

"Thanks," I tell her, but my voice is far away. It's now or never, Kat. Time to lay it all out on the table and hope they don’t run for the hills. Annabelle catches my eye through the reflection in the full-length mirror, her brow creased with concern.

"Hey, Earth to Kat," she says, her voice a gentle prod. "You've been miles away since you got here. Spill."

"Let's step aside for a sec," I mutter, hooking a thumb toward the far corner of the room. We need privacy for this conversation.

I slip out of the gown and back into my white sundress, muscles coiled with tension that has nothing to do with the snug fabric. With Aunt Sarah out of earshot, I feel the knot in my stomach loosen just enough to let the words tumble out.

"Annabelle, I'm freaking out," I confess as I start pacing, the plush carpet soft under my feet. "The guys...it's like I’m trapped in a romance novel where the heroine's too greedy to pick just one love interest."
