“This is going to be interesting,” he said, pointing at his cock.

“Are we supposed to be this horny all the time?” I asked, worried about the disruption this would cause in our lives.

“I don’t mind,” Michael shrugged. He settled on the bed, and tugged me between his legs. I relaxed against him with my back resting against his chest. He laced one hand in mine, while stroking my shoulder with his other. I couldn’t get enough of touching him and apparently he felt the same.

“How?” I asked, finally voicing my bewilderment. “Why didn’t we feel this bond before?”

“It’s only a guess but I think it had something to do with our territory. I’m the Archangel of Regent City. The bond fell into place the moment we touched the soil. That’s when we first felt the sharp desire.”

That made sense. While the stirrings of attraction were definitely there in Clifton, it was no match to the grip it had on us when we entered the city.

I settled deeper, my bare back hot against his naked chest. Skin to skin, I felt at ease. From the moment he’d knocked on my library door, I had struggled with the need to reach out and caress his skin. Even when trading jabs, I had lusted over his perfect face. Lifting my hand, I traced his jaw and sighed. I wanted to do that so bad. Now I could do it whenever I wished. He was mine - body and soul.

There was a great deal we still had to work through, starting with the funeral for my aunt, and clearing my parents’ names. But with Archangel Michael by my side, I didn’t feel alone anymore. My desire for him was simply the beginning of our love.

He had promised to always be there for me. Now, we have forever.

Epilogue

Seraphina was everything I had dreamt of and more. When her parents were vindicated during the ceremony that would be talked about for decades, her smile shone like a thousand suns. Every day, she smiles like that for me. It’s an honor I don’t take lightly.

It’d been a few weeks since the mating bond snapped into place. Since then, my life had revolved around my cock’s wants. It was insane how much it needed. I’d find it funny if it wasn’t so pleasurable. The lusty haze had thinned in the last few days and thankfully, because the war was at our doorsteps.

Archangel Raphael had summoned the Archangels to Clifton for a summit. Not only was Archangel Rylan coming, he had convinced the other two to join, too. This would be the first time the five Archangels had come together. It was a momentous occasion, but the event had been marred by rumors that Prince Karda was spotted among the citizens.

I had recently established active training centers for anyone who wanted to defend themselves. Additionally, thousands of young men and women lined up to register for our armed forces. A combined regiment with soldiers from Clifton and Regent had been dispatched to collect and prepare ash wood for the upcoming battle.

No one was planning to give in without a fight. While vampires were dreaded monsters, they weren’t invincible. The Vampire Prince was counting on creating chaos to win this battle. But it wouldn’t be the cakewalk, he was expecting.

We had also received the first batch of the antidote from Clifton and it would be distributed to every household in my territory. In two days, I’d be visiting Raphel’s territory again. This time I would be flying Seraphina along with me to the city. I’m not going to take another chance with her safety. No more cars.

The urge to protect her outshined my every other need. I made peace with it. Frankly, the physical pain from the fear for her well-being has no cure, except returning her to safety. I would rather keep her unharmed in the first place.

A few moments ago, I found her in her favorite reading chair in the palace library. Her feet curled under her, she was engrossed in her book.

“No time for your mate?” I said in greeting. She jumped, her book flying off her hands. I caught it with a grin.

“Damnfuckpudding,” she cursed.

I huffed a laugh. “What literary pursuits taught you such colorful words?” I settled on the chair in front of her.

“Let’s just say it’s way above your reading level,” she retorted, pulling the book from my hand. “You are early today,” she said, accusingly.

“Ouch. Already bored of your Archangel?” I grazed her leg with my foot, raising the hem of her dress. Her milky, smooth skin was such a distraction. She pulled her leg away and huffed.

“You don’t get to play victim here. I need to get back to a job before I turn into a nagging mate.”

I rose. Putting my hands on the armrest of her chair, I arrested her within my circle. “I sense displeasure from my mate. I have a strong urge to fix this,” I murmured.

Her eyes widened. Her pupils dilated. I love when the blue of her eyes darken with desire.

“How do you propose you do that?” she whispered hoarsely.

“I've got an idea,” I said. I leaned in, nicking the softness of her ear. “Allow me to please you.”

She watched as I got on my knees, her gaze level with mine. A soft gasp escaped her pillowy lips and I suppressed the urge to kiss her. But I had other plans. Catching the end of her flowy, summer dress, I gently raised it to her thighs. She let out a shuddering breath as my fingers trailed along her bare skin. Exactly what I wanted her to feel. My cock pushed against my pants, pleading to break free.

I grabbed her right ankle and lifted the leg to rest on the armrest and then repeated it with her other leg. She was spread open in front of me like a feast and my mouth watered. Her arousal was thick in the air, her panty soaked in her delicious wetness.

“Michael,” she sighed, when I lightly traced the line of her slit with my finger.

“What do you need, sweetheart?” I asked.

“Make me come in your mouth, Michael,” she said, her voice trembling with need.

“Consider it done.”

The End.
