The “something” involved sharing a history of their personal pursuits in the bedroom—both together and in sharing women.

But neither of them were about to tell Sylvee that.

They continued on the stone path that led to the stable. Piers pointed at the paddock where a few of the rescued horses were grazing.

She shook her head, lamenting that anyone could abuse an animal. When they reached the stable large enough to house twenty horses, her lips twisted into that smile they loved so well. “This place is very modern.”

“We take pride in the appearance of the ranch. We all do our part with the grounds and the animals.” He waved a hand in the direction of the big lodge built with the same log exterior as the bungalows, but the rustic beams supporting the roof over the entry were painted black in a modern style that brought a different kind of charm to the ranch.

“That’s the lodge. It houses the dining hall—or grub hall, as we call it around here. Also, games are held there pretty much all day.”

“What sorts of games?” Sylvee’s shorter legs kept pace with both of theirs as they strolled.

“You know we’re going to say strip poker.” Ash’s eyes gleamed with mischief. “But there’s also naked cornhole.”

She giggled. “Does naked cornhole have some meaning other than the obvious?”

Piers beamed a smile at her. “You said it yourself—it’s a sex ranch. Lots of naughty things take place indoors and out. Not all of them are behind closed doors.”

She ran her tongue over her full bottom lip. “I did read something online about a BDSM show.”

Piers held her stare, unable to breathe thanks to the picture of Sylvee blindfolded on her knees in front of him. “That’s right.”

They continued in silence for a few more yards before Ash pointed out the structure with glass walls. “That’s the indoor pool.”

“And greenhouse,” Piers added.

Her eyes sparkled. “How charming. What do you grow here?”

“Fruits and vegetables, plus all of the herbs used to season our food. The ranch sustains itself by supplying our own meat too. Any extra we sell to the locals in the village.”

They turned the corner of the greenhouse and ran into a Boot Knocker. His hat tumbled to the ground, and he had a long-legged brunette pinned against the wall. Her head was tossed back, and a giggle bubbled from her as he worked his lips down the column of her throat.

Ash twitched his head to direct Sylvee in the other direction. She followed, but her wide eyes told Piers that she was about to get a wakeup call about how things truly operated around here.

After they were out of earshot, she gave Ash a side-eyed glance. “Does that happen…often?”

He sent her a wink. “You’re about to find out, aren’t you?”

They headed to the waterfront. The ocean inlet provided a beautiful view with the reflection of the steely blue mountains on the water.

As they neared, Sylvee slowed her pace, treading more lightly. “What is that sound?”

He only saw her, but at her question, Piers tuned into his surroundings and caught the barking noise. “Seals.”

“Seals!”

“Yes, there. On those rocks.” He pointed.

She grabbed his arm and gazed across the glittering water at the big rock that seemed to be moving from so many seals on it. “That is so amazing!”

She was amazing. He wanted to dip his lips to hers. To tug the elastic band holding her messy bun in place free and drag his fingers through the strands—but she deserved to be pampered, not plundered.

After the cove, they took a shorter route back to the bungalow. Ash pointed out the steam rising in the air. “Hot springs.”

Her eyes rolled upward, and she let slip a groan. “That sounds divine right now. I’ve been up since four to catch the flight here.”

Ash’s gaze flickered up to her hair. “We know.”
