“Okay,” I say. “You’ve got me.”

Chapter 17

Human Chocolate Fountain

Istart to relax. I take a long sip of my champagne and swirl it around my mouth, enjoying the bubbles and the dry finish. I feel my muscles soften, my back curving so I’m sitting in a relaxed position instead of bolt upright like a shocked ferret. Alistair drums his fingers gently on my thigh, as if he is playing the piano. No rush, no advancement, just inaudible piano tunes while the bass vibrates our seats. Feeling less on edge, I look around the secret underground club. What I see still gives me little spikes in my stomach, but they feel more like excitement, now. Butterflies, but not pretty pastel and polka dot ones. Instead, the butterflies in my stomach are jet black and edged with gold. Shimmering.

“Tell me what you see,” says Alistair.

I take a breath. Have another sip. “The couple at the bar there,” I say slowly.

Alistair glances to where I’m looking.

“She’s just passed him something.”

“What did she pass him?” he asks.

“I think it was her panties. She was wearing stockings earlier.”

Alistair nods. “What else?”

“Three women there, at that sunken round booth.” The round gilded table that looks like a huge gold coin is filled with handbags, drinks, and what looks like a couple of sex toys. “One of the women is completely naked, and the others are touching her … and kissing her.”

“Hmm.” Alistair shifts in his seat. He stops playing the piano on my thigh and moves a little closer. “Anyone else catch your eye?”

I keep looking. I could look all night. Does that make me a voyeur?

“The girl dancing in the golden birdcage,” I say. She moves slowly, sensually, perfectly to the slow beat. Metallic nipple caps glint as she moves. Her panties are black and barely there, just some sexy thin lines.

“You want to dance with her?” he asks.

“No!” If I was wearing pearls, I’d be clutching them.

He puts his palms up in surrender. “No need to panic. I was just asking.”

I flash my eyes at him.

“Remember,” he says, “we’re exploring. We’re being curious and asking questions.”

I keep watching the dancer, and when she makes eye contact with me and smiles, I look away quickly.

It’s very subtle, but Alistair’s grip tightens. “Anything else you see?”

I narrow my eyes, looking into the shadows of the club now, instead of what is on open display. It’s difficult to make out exactly what is happening, but I do see a woman, fully dressed on top, naked on the bottom, lowering herself onto a man’s face. He grabs her ass as she rides him; she’s laughing and moaning in turn. Beside them, their friends watch and shout encouragement. They’re all in business suits, as if they all work for the same firm. Her diamond tiara glitters as she moves. Soon her laughing stops, and her body pulses, close to climax. One of the other men lunges for her, hauling her off the other’s face, and bends her over the table. He’s inside her before she can stop him—not that there were any signs of protest—and starts fucking her intently. Her smile is gone but she’s nodding. Yes. He keeps going, but I can see by his body language that he won’t be able to continue for much longer.

The woman turns to look at him, says something which makes him go at it harder, then his body stiffens and he withdraws, slouching and coming into his hand. The woman stays splayed over the table. She calls one of the other men, who unzips and takes over.

“Jesus,” I murmur. “Quite some office party.”

“Indeed,” replies Alistair, lips curved.

“Makes you look positively vanilla,” I tease.

His hand on my thigh grips me hard, and I cry out in surprise. “You won’t be saying that later.”

The black butterflies swarm inside me. I’m scared to ask. I want to know, but I don’t want to hear it. “What do you have planned?”

“I’m not sure yet,” he replies. “Let’s see where the evening takes us.”
