“You’re shaking,” she says.

I straighten up, keeping her hand in mine. “Well, yeah. Tori, I was out of my mind with worry when I heard you got into an accident.”

She frowns slightly. “How did you find out so fast?”

I explain that at the end of the reception, Becca received a call from the paramedics who arrived at the scene of the crash.

“They’re all on their way here,” I say. With my free hand, I gently push away a chunk of her auburn hair that’s fallen in her face.

Her golden eyes scan my face. “You got here quickly.”

I smile. “I drove pretty fast.”

She frowns at me. “That was dangerous, Tyler.”

“I had to get to you, Tori. There was nothing on this planet that was going to keep me from you.”

Her eyes widen at what I’ve said. That familiar flush paints her cheeks and chest.

I gently squeeze her hand in mine. “If you’re not okay, I’m not okay, Tori. You’re everything to me.”

Her lips part as she gasps softly at what I’ve said. Just then, I hear a commotion behind me.

When I turn around, I see Gage, Becca, Maya, Theo, Declan, and Austin push through the door to Tori’s hospital room.

Tori smiles. “Hey, you guys.”

“Tori…” Becca runs over to her, tears streaming down her face. “I’m so sorry!”

I step away to give her room so she can hug Tori, bumping into the massive skirt of her wedding dress. Everyone else gathers around the hospital bed.

“Bec, why are you sorry?”

“Because the whole reason you were driving was because of me—because of us.” Becca straightens up and gestures to Gage, who’s standing next to her and looks stricken. “You were driving our wedding gifts to our apartment.”

Tori’s eyebrows crash together, a pained look on her face. She grabs Becca’s hand. “Bec, you are not allowed to feel bad or apologize. Okay? This is no one’s fault.”

Becca hesitates for a second, but she nods. Gage’s expression eases.

“If you want to blame something, blame the snow,” Tori jokes.

Becca lets out a teary laugh. Maya grabs the tissue box from the side table and hands it to Becca. She dabs at her face.

“Okay,” Becca says. “Screw you, snow.”

Everyone chuckles softly.

Tori sighs and bites her lip, looking between Gage and Becca. “Some of the presents didn’t make it.”

Becca scoffs. “Oh my gosh, Tori. We don’t care one bit about those presents.”

Gage starts to smile. “You did us a favor, Tori. We told everyone not to give us gifts, remember? You just saved us from having to keep a bunch of presents we didn’t even want in the first place,” he jokes.

Tori smiles. “Okay, I feel a little better now.”

Becca leans down to give her one more hug before backing away and letting everyone else hug Tori and say hi to her.

After a few minutes, there’s a soft knock at the door. I look up and see our mom and dad standing in the doorway.
