I discreetly pulled it out while Aurora was sinking into me and just basking and relaxing as we made our way home. She liked to walk here and back each day, even during the cooler temperatures. Usually Jonah and Asher would join us too, but they were busy elsewhere today.

Aurora believed Asher was working on one of his business ventures, while Jonah had told her he was working against a tight deadline to get an engineering project done.

None of that was true.

They were doing something much more… exciting.

It was killing me not to let on in any way at all to her, because we talked about literally everything these days.

But this holding off would be worth it when we saw the look on her face.

I knew it would live in our memories rent-free for a hell of a long time.

I swiped my phone open and took in the texts. Asher had opened another side group messenger without Aurora, just for this special surprise.

Asher: You’re behind schedule.

I rolled my eyes. Some things never changed with him.

Well, to look on the bright side, as I’d taken to doing now with all the Infidels bullshit weight being lifted, he wouldn’t be the Asher we knew without that.

Killian: We got our project grades back today.

Asher: Understood.

He’d come to know how intense Aurora was about that, how she had to brace herself and work up to checking any grade that came in.

Killian: She got that A you predicted.

Asher: Of course she did, she’s talented.

Jonah: Fucking right our princess is. In other areas too. Mmm… fuck.

Killian: You just had to take it there, huh?

Jonah: I’m horny as fuck. Asher wouldn’t help me out.

Asher: Because we need to get this done.

Jonah: Could’ve thrown me a quickie. I would’ve gone feral all over your monster fuck stick. I still could. Just say the word.

Killian: Come the fuck on, guys. Seriously?

Jonah: Don’t be jealous, Kill. So, Ash? What do you say?

Asher: Save it for Aurora. Tonight’s gonna be an all-nighter.

Jonah: Oh, that’s why you turned me down? Hell, yeah, I’m more than good with that.

Killian: Now that’s settled, J, did you get that yellow gelatine-like thing for Aurora?

Asher: It’s not gelatine.

Jonah: Custard, Kill. For the trifle.

Killian: You know what I meant. And that chocolate log thing she showed us in that photo album her dad brought over last week?

When she’d been trying to get us to soften more on her dad.
