“You’re not leaving,” he growled.

Caleb winced and told him, “That came out as an order, Ash.”

“Exactly,” Asher said, his eyes flashing.

Fuck me.

Killian tensed right alongside me, worried that he was gonna ruin the reunion—more than he already had.

But then, as she’d done more than once before, Aurora somehow managed to know exactly what to do to diffuse him, telling him with a genuine smile and a sure tone, “No, I’m not leaving.”

At her words, something shifted in him, some of that blackness marring his eyes retreating.

And then he was striding over to us.

As Kill and I held Aurora, Asher eased her head toward him, then she nuzzled against his cheek.

And, even in his beast state, he let it happen.

He didn’t flinch or try to move away, or make it brief at the very least.

In fact, he brought his hand up and started stroking her hair, then closed his eyes, sinking into the warmth of her presence, the way her just being here altered our dynamic in a hella powerful and positive way.

I looked out to see that Caleb had headed off somewhere.

It was just the four of us now.

At least for the time being.

Her being back here was a major weight off, possessing a soothing influence, none of which I could even begin to properly describe or completely get my head around.

I didn’t need to.

I just wanted to revel in it.

For as long as I could before the external bullshit interfered again.

Thank you, J.

His horniness was really helping me out right now.

Lance said that he was a light sleeper, basically warning us off Aurora.

But right now any slight sound I was making by creeping down the corridor toward her room was being drowned out by Jonah and Caleb going at it.

Asher was dead asleep after Aaron had convinced him to take a sedative so he could actually sleep after unleashing earlier. He’d come a long way with the healing, but he still had a ways to go before he was back to his prime physical state, and he’d also way overexerted himself during his attack on Lance earlier.

Jonah clearly hadn’t been able to stand another day of the sexual tension coming off of Caleb toward Ash. The poor bastard had already been reeling from not being able to go there at all with his Sire as it was.

Now he was getting what he needed. Well, as close as he could get.

If he’d been able to wait, I would’ve brought him with me to Aurora.

As it was, at least he was providing necessary cover.
