“I’m staying.” He cocks a brow, willing me to argue, but for once, I don’t. With a small kiss settled on my nose, he releases me and turns away, giving me a reprieve. I stay where I am trying to bring my heartbeat back to its normal pace, but the scraping of tables being moved has me turning around. I watch him for a second as he straightens them and tucks the stools beneath them. He wanders comfortably around my bar straightening chairs before heading toward the jukebox in the corner and pulls out a quarter from his pocket, flips it into the air before sliding it into the slot on the side. He presses buttons while he concentrates on his selection, then I hear the first few notes of Paradise City start to play. Can’t beat an oldie. I smile ashe turns and wanders slowly towards me, his fingers tucking my hair behind my ear away from my face as stops in front of me. “I think it’s time we sat and talked about this shit.”

“What, last night? I can’t. I just want to forget it.”

His head shakes in slow motion, “No. It’s not going to be forgotten. But I was talking about us, sweetheart.”

I exhale, “I guess we do have a lot to talk about, huh?” I murmur. Our gaze lock as he runs his thumb along my bottom lip.

“Yeah, we do…” A husk laces his voice, it’s so damn sexy. My teeth graze my lip as I stare into his eyes…

“Luna!” The familiar deep voice travels through the open door as Reaper calls out. Levi’s shoulders sag and his forehead softly meets mine.

“Fuck’s sake.” As I smirk, Levi puts a little space between us, just as Reaper comes approaches.

“Oh yeah. And what’s going on here then?” Reaper sings.

“Fuck off, Reap.” I take Levi’s hands from me and step back from him, looking to our visitor.

Reaper’s hands slap on the bar as he reaches us, with a stupid grin stretching across his face, “Did I just disturb something?” he looks between us, leaving the question to hang in the air. His body pushes across the bar as he leans in, laughing. I can see why when I see the scowl on Levi’s face. Levi goes to hit him, but Reaper moves just in time, causing Levi to miss and I smile. I remember them like this so well back in the day. When times seemed a whole lot easier.

“I thought I’d find you here.” Says Reaper.

“Well now you’ve found me, what do you want?”

“Club business.”

“You mean I’m still involved?”

Reaper scowls and purses his lips, “Yeah fucknut.”

“Ooh lucky me.” I grin and make my way back around the bar, slapping Reaper playfully on the back of the head as he sidles up beside me and resting his folded arms on the bar.

“Why am I always searching for your sorry ass?”Reaper asks.

“Because I can’t be pinned down. I’m a wanderer.”

“You’re a dickhead.” Reaper answers in a rapid comeback and stands upright again while Levi smiles in my direction. It’s a gorgeous smile that he only ever aims at me.

I feel a flush creep into my cheeks under his stare. I need them to go, then I can get ready for opening, and I can lock the door behind them. “Right then you two, if you’re going, go. I’ve got a business to run.”

“I’ll be back as soon as I can.” There’s no point in saying don’t bother because he won’t listen anyway. My eyebrow cocks and Levi smirks before turning and crossing the bar toward the door.

Reaper turns and watches Levi leave before his eyes lock with mine. “Hey, you okay?” I chew on the inside of my lip and nod, hoping to tame the raging beast that I can see coming to life in his eyes as he glances at my bruises. The flare of his nostrils speaks volumes as his fist comes down on the bar. “We’ll talk about it later.”

“Can’t wait.” I call out, but he’s already gone. I follow their path and lock the door behind them then go out back. I don’t fancy an unwanted customer on top of what happened last night.

The rumble of their engine’s filters through the empty bar, and within seconds they’re gone.

“Now to clean.” I know I cleaned last night but it was quick and I feel like I need to disinfect everything to get Mac’s presence out of here. But as I pick up my cleaning stuff, thoughts of Levi slip back into my mind, the searing feel of his kiss, his gentle touch and how he protected me last night.

I’m so fucking screwed.I should’ve known this would happen.

After all it’s always been him.

CHAPTER 13

CHAINS

We pull up in the compound and park up, getting off our bikes in unison. “What does he want anyway?” I ask Reaper, curious as to why Pres would bring me in when he doesn’t want me doing official club business.
