I smile as her words settle in my mind. Six months ago, those words would have been difficult to believe, but now… now I’m where I should be again. “So, while you’re laid up and resting, you need to make some plans, because as soon as I can, I’m marrying you.”

An excited smile matches my own, “I can’t wait.”

“Good.” I dip my head to capture her lips again, my tongue delves into the warmth of her mouth and kiss her until we’re both pulling away and breathless.

“So, have you heard anything?”

“No, sweetheart. But I don’t want you to stress about it. I am gonna get that son of a bitch.”

“I know you will.

“But until then, I need you to be extra cautious right?” She nods, worry glazes her pretty eyes. “You keep that door locked when I’m not here, and you promise you don’t go anywhere on your own. But you have to promise me, Luna.”

“I promise.” She agrees.

“No fighting me on this?” I ask, a little bewildered, to say the least.

“No fighting.”

“That’s my girl.” As I carry on my journey toward her lips, thoughts of us getting married invade my mind. I see her in a wedding dress, I can’t even imagine how beautiful she might look. My cell ringing in my pocket distracts me. “Fuck. What is it with people?” I plant a quick, hard kiss to her lips and reach into my pocket, as I snatch it out and lift it, I see Reaper’s name.

With a heavy sigh, I accept the call and lift it to my ear. “One day. One fucking day is all I wanted.”

“Is Luna home?” Reaper asks and I frown.

“Yeah. You knew that’s what I was doing today.”

“Fuck, I’m sorry dude, but I need you at the warehouse.”

I sit up a little straighter. “You got it. I’ll be there soon.”

I cut the call and look back at Luna. That day comes back in a flashback, the day she was shot, the day when the shit hit the fucking fan. “Baby, I have to go out. I’ll get Neve to lock the door after me.”

“Where are you going?” Luna asks as tears still glaze her eyes.

“Business to attend to. I have to be there.” Her brows come together as her forehead creases. The worry evident on her pretty face. I leave a lingering kiss on her plump lips. “Don’t answer the door to anyone.” I say, standing and swiping her taste away with my tongue. Unfortunately, Mac hasn’t been seen since that day outside the hospital and me and Reaper were the only ones who did spot him. I should have gone after him then. Reaper even sent the brothers to scan the area, but nothing. I’ve been wondering since if he was actually there or not. Looking back, I should’ve fucking killed him the night he tried to rape Luna. This is on me for wanting to do the right thing.

“I won’t.” She says, breaking me from my own thoughts.

With a small smile for my girl, I go in search of Neve and find her in the kitchen, letting her know I have to leave and reiterate everything I’ve just told Luna.

“Levi,” Luna calls out again. I move back toward the lounge and look through the doorway, “please be careful.” I nod to give her a little peace of mind, blow her a kiss and I’m out of there. Luckily, I decided to follow Luna and Neve on my bike from the hospital. I jump on and fasten my helmet, then check the clips in my gun. With it fully loaded, I holster it away and start the engine. I’m soon racing away from Luna’s building, still hesitant about leaving her in there. I’m totally leaving her open to unwanted guests, but I have no other choice right now.

Ten, maybe twelve minutes later, I’m guiding my Harley around the back of the old warehouse. This is where we bring the fuckers that don’t want to talk right away, but rightly so, they do in the end.

My bike stops next to the van and a couple of the brothers’ bikes, and I dismount, taking my helmet off and leaving it on the seat. Taking my gun out, I hold it to my chest and walk alongside the building until I reach the door. I give three knocks, letting them know it’s me first and go inside. That metallic taint of blood permeates the air. Not thinking about what we’re about to do, I storm through the old, dilapidated building until I reach the brothers. Walking around the few that are gathered together, I smirk at the asshole tied to the chair.

It’s a pity it’s not the one I really wanted, but at least Savage Souls will know we’re not fucking around.

“Well, well, if it isn’t Mac’s little stooge.”

“Fuck you.”Blood spits from his lips.

“Now, you’re in no position to say that, are ya?” I push my gun into the back of my jeans as he yanks on his restraints. His ankles and wrists both tied to the arms and legs of the chair. His face cut up and bleeding, saliva dribbles from his mouth as his head hangs down slightly. Stepping up to him, I take a chunk of his hair in my fingers and pull his head back, and bringing my fist back, it smashes into his face, his nose bursting under my attack. I hit him again and again until my hand hurts. I shake out the ache then the brothers all take turns to hit him some more. Holding up my hand, I stop them.

“So, what information you got for me?”

He tries to lift his head but he’s been hit so many times he’s struggling to hold it up. Popeye goes over and shoves his head back. Blood is spat at his feet and just narrowly misses him. I take the knife strapped to my lower leg and lift it to his face. “I will cut you fucking open and leave you for the coyotes if you don’t tell us something. Where the fuck is Mac?” I hold my knife to his throat, the point pressing into the hollow part of his collarbone. I push on the knife until it pierces his skin. “I will fucking do it.”
