She rolled her eyes and pushed a hand between us, stroking me slowly. “This house…”

“What about it?”

“How nice is it?”

“One point two million kinda nice.”

“Hmmmm….” She mumbled and that vibration of her voice was easily becoming my favorite sound. Each time it left her lips it landed right at my dick. My eyes narrowed when she lowered slowly, kneeling in front of me. One of her hands pressed against my thigh and the other gripped the base of my dick, before she stated, “I suppose for one point two million kind of nice, I should probably thank you, substantially.”

“You…” My thoughts escaped me and all I got out after that was “oh fuck” when she attempted to swallow my dick. When the tip glided down the depths of her throat, I couldn’t focus on a gotdamn thing but her mouth and tongue.

An hour later, we were tucked beneath the bedding of her king-sized bed which I was grateful for. Because after four years of being in formation I needed every luxury I could have. The room wasn’t a suite, but the bed was large and comfortable.

The most important part of my comfort was the woman whose body was draped over mine. I could live a thousand years with her head resting on my chest, my fingers tangled in her hair while hers mindlessly stroked my beard.

“You said you didn’t compete because of your dad. What was that about?”

She was quiet for too long so I gently fisted her hair and tugged her head back so that I had her eyes. They were lazy from excessive sex and need for sleep. Both because of me.

I asked again. “What was that about, Rho?”

“If I lost, I would have disappointed him.”

“You think you would have lost?”

“No…” Arrogance flickered in her soft browns and I chuckled and kissed the top of her head.

“Then why the fuck didn’t you compete?”

“I could have. He only lost once and that was to me. Never to friends and never in competition. I really don’t believe he lost to me.” She smiled. “But he promised he didn’t let me win.”

“You’re good, Rho.”

“I know…” She exhaled a sigh. “But I didn’t want to risk it.”

“I feel you but if you don’t get that shit out of your system, it’s always gonna bother you.”

“Yeah, I know.”

“Promise me you’ll do it one day.”

Her eyes flitted to mine and I added, “I’ll be here to hold you to that promise so I need you to agree.”

She smiled slowly. “I promise if you do.”

“To be here?”

She nodded and I confirmed. “You got that, now get some sleep.”

She tensed and I understood why seconds later. “You gonna be here when I wake up this time?”

“Yeah, I’ll be here.”

My eyes locked on hers and she relaxed, inching closer. Rhoni drifted to sleep, clinging to me like I wouldn’t be here when she opened her eyes the next morning. Four years ago had scarred her. Shit, scarred me too, but things were different now.

I wondered if we would have ended up here, in this moment with the same motivation, if things had been different back then. If I hadn’t had four years hanging over my head. Who the fuck knows and at the moment who the fuck cared?

This right here, right now, was our time and our place. I wasn’t letting this go.
