Her grip on my balls loosened. She caressed them while stroking my shaft. Harder. Faster. Before long, I was spilling into her hand.

She pierced me with a menacing look. “All of this is for me.”

After she stood, she pulled me up by my wrists. It didn’t take much effort on her part since I couldn’t fight it. She led me to her bed and once she disrobed, she sat on the end and leaned back on her elbows.

She nodded toward her bare cunt, and I knew what she expected me to do. Like she was in my head and feeding me cues.

I sank to my knees and grimaced. Even though I physically couldn’t fight against the magical bonds, my mind still loathed all the things she’d made me do.

My hands wrapped around the back of her knees and I pushed her legs open. She watched with a lust-filled gaze. I stalled the best I could while still obeying the vines that controlled me, kissing the inside of her thigh.

I could still taste the blood from where she’d punctured my lip.

The blood…

There was a vial in my pocket. I’d almost forgotten about it. As luck would have it, my pants were still hanging loosely off my hips. Carefully, I slipped one hand into my pocket and pulled out the empty vial. With one hand, I skillfully removed the stopper and avoided losing it in the process.

The plan fell together quickly in my mind. I continued to place teasing kisses along her thigh. Let her think that I was enjoying this as much as she was. I started with a tentative graze of my teeth—just to test it out.

Her eyes were wild with desire when they met mine.

I bit down, gently at first. I sucked on her skin and soothed the angry teeth marks I’d left. Her head rolled back, and I took the opportunity to clamp down hard, tasting blood the moment I pierced her skin with my teeth.

She jolted and her head flew back up, but I ran my tongue over that spot again, luring her into a false sense of security. After a few moments, she relaxed again and let her head drop back.

I sucked on that spot, drawing as much blood as I could into my mouth. While her head was still tilted back, I quietly spat into the vial and replaced the stopper, then slid the vial back into my pants.

Before she could question the brief pause, I slid a finger inside her and she sighed with relief.

Chapter Thirty-Two

Ladon

“Dare I ask how you got this?” Emilie asked, dangling the vial of Reyna’s blood between two fingers.

“You don’t want to know.”

“Is that…saliva mixed with it?”

“You don’t want to know.”

“Right. Well, however you did it, I’m impressed.”

I smirked. “Did you think I wouldn’t be able to?”

Kneeling next to the bed, Emilie tucked the vial into a pair of socks. After Reyna had unexpectedly found her book, she’d hidden all of her items amongst her clothing.

“I didn’t doubt you. I just didn’t expect you to have it done so quickly.”

“Now we need another workday in the cavern.”

Emilie looked up at me with a troubled frown. We both knew how unlikely that was. Our luck had run out in that department.

“Do you think there are other openings to the tunnels?” she asked.

I ran a hand through my hair, damp from the shower I’d just stepped out of. “There has to be. Finding them though…that won’t be easy. We only found the first one because the harpy knew of its existence.”

I sank to the mattress and rubbed my temples. We’d been locked away for what had to be months now. I’d lost count of the days weeks ago. I was pretty sure Emilie was still keeping track. I could’ve asked her, but confirmation of our timeline would likely only frustrate me more.
