“Yeah.”

Licking over her lips, Summer laces her fingers with mine, clutching our joined hands together at her chin as she holds my stare. “This is a big house, babe.”

Her grin makes me chuckle at her insatiable desire. “We have all night, baby.”

“Where do you want to start?”

“Start? What do you think that was?”

“The I…isn’t that why you fucked me on the entry table?”

The fading rumble of my chuckle picks up to a laughter I barely recognize with its genuine mirth. “Aren’t you a greedy little thing?”

Dropping to her heeled feet, she watches as I toe off my shoes and socks before shucking off my pants.

“To answer your question,” she says when I wrap my arm around her shoulders and guide her back through the house to the back doors overlooking the heated pool. “I liked it. Really. Fucking. Loved it.”

“Huh?”

Tugging me down the steps to the water, she clarifies, “Having all my holes filled…by you.”

Before she can say or do anything else, I lug her over my shoulder and jump in. The pool is an important part of this house, after all.

Kinks. Not sure if I have one. However, watching Summer sleep could become mine. Surprisingly, she’s not a cuddler in bed. The instant she falls asleep, her body searches out for its own domain. I don’t mind it; in fact, it’s got its perks. For one, it allows me a better view of her as I lie on my side and watch her chest inflate with her even breaths. She must be tired because the sun is already beaming, and without any curtains, the white room is really damn bright.

My phone vibrates loudly across the floor beside the mattress. It might as well be rattling the entire place with the noise it makes. Thinking it’s Seb or Kate calling me so Easton can talk to me, I grab it and answer it on autopilot.

“Hey, bud,” I croon into the phone softly so I don’t wake Summer up.

“Parker?” Ellen’s voice greets my ears, instead of my little boy’s cute ramble. “Where are you?”

That’s none of her business, and although it’s exactly what I want to tell her, I ask her instead, “What do you need?”

If it’s not her weekend to watch Easton, the only reason she calls me out of the blue is to ask for something. Normally for Heather. My stomach twists at the thought of talking to her about her daughter beside Summer. It feels disrespectful to her, and the last thing I want is to ruin the night we had together or put a damper on the start to her day. I have plans for us with Easton. He loves her already, and I want him to get used to having her around more outside of the hotel.

While I listen to her umm and ahh, I grab a towel from the en suite and wrap it around my hips. Our clothes are somewhere around the house. The memory of last night warms through me even as my irritation begins to build over Ellen’s sudden inability to say what she needs to. She’s never had a problem before.

Once I’ve left the bedroom and I’m on my way downstairs, I ask, “What do you want, Ellen?”

“Can you open the door? I want to talk to you.” An obnoxious knock sounds from her end of the line. “I need to discuss a few things with you.”

“We’re not at the hotel.” I pause in front of the french doors at the back of the house, smiling at the red heels by the side of the pool as I open them wide and let the warm morning air in.

“Oh? Well, why don’t I meet you for breakfast? You know I could take him for a couple of days and give you some adult time…” What the fuck has gotten into her? “You’re seeing that girl from the hotel, so you must want to—”

“We have plans this weekend, Ellen, and we won’t be around at all.’’ I cut her off because in spite of her words, her tone is sour.

“I’d like to see my grandson, Parker.”

Bullshit. This is just another ploy on her part to make me feel bad about something so that she can manipulate me into giving her whatever she’s after. We do this dance often, and I’m sick and tired of it. I won’t live my life like this. I can’t. At least not if I want things with Summer to work out. And I do, beyond anything else. I want to make Summer as happy as she makes me.

“It’s not your weekend, Ellen. Besides, like I told you, we have plans.”

“Please, Parker…”

“No. We’re not straying from the agreement we made. You get him every other weekend and—”
