“Only for you.”

“Better be,” I assert jokingly with a swat to her juicy thigh.

Summer’s ability to shake off the darker moods never ceases to amaze me. With a wide beam on her face, she gets out of the car when we park close to the gallery.

The gallery is busier than I thought it would be, but then Harrison has been working with some local artists and a few community projects. As much of an asshole as he can be, he has a big heart that many take advantage of.

“This is really cute, and I think it would brighten up the entry. It’s so white at the moment, and the pop of color would really give it some character.” Summer inches a little closer to the tall elephant painting that’s leaning against the back wall of the large safe. The gray crackled paint jumps from the canvas while a rainbow pours over its back, dripping down its body like wet paint.

“I like it,” I tell her. “But I think it would be something Mom would like.”

Looking over at Harrison, as he types into his phone, I ask, “What’s the deal with the elephant?”

“It’s quite literally the elephant in the room, man. Courier turned up here with it a couple weeks back. Had a note on it that labeled it as a donation for the auction next week.”

“Have you traced it with the courier?”

“Dead end all round. It’s not the first time this happens with these auctions, but the legal department cleared it, so it’s all good. It’s not like we’re making a profit on it…”

“It’s so pretty. I love the colors and the textures. Really, really pretty.” Summer gets closer, her fingertips hovering over the paint drips.

The softness in her voice is almost whimsical, as though she’s falling in love. God, the girl is so damn stunning that she could be one of the beautiful pieces of art surrounding us. Taking a couple of steps forward, I come to a stop behind her, wrapping an arm around her chest and pressing my front to her back.

“You like it that much?”

“What your mom said the other night…” With her hands clasping my forearm, she glances up at me. “It’s the perfect caption for it.”

“I guess it is.” Lowering my lips to hers, I plant a chaste kiss. “You want it?”

“What?” she chuckles in disbelief.

“You love it that much, I’ll buy it. I do think that it’ll look pretty in the entry. East would go crazy for it.”

“You’d buy it just like that? Because I like it?”

“No. I’d buy it because I love the way your face lights up when you look at it. Because of the way the blend between the orange and red reminds me of your hair…and how you’ll look when I fuck you beneath it.”

“Oh my God, you really are going for it today.” Summer giggles. The sound is breathy as I suck it all in with a light grind of my groin to her plump ass.

Drinking in her soft, warm scent, I whisper into her ear, “You have no idea what I’m going to do to you tonight.”

“You want me to leave the room?” Harrison groans behind us.

Frankly, I’d pretty much blanked that he was there. But as he comes to stand beside us, his inquisitive stare has me glancing at him. “How much for the elephant?”

“Give me a figure, and I’ll put it in as a phone offer at the auction,” he replies, slipping his phone into his pocket with a smirk on his face. “Go big—it’s for a great cause. I’m thinking seven figures should do it.”

“I’ll do six figures, and it’s mine now.”

I hold out my hand and wait for Harrison to agree because we both know the painting is never going to make six figures at auction, let alone seven. It has no history. No name to it. It might as well be a child’s doodle, but Summer loves it. She loves it enough that she’s still ogling the fuck out of it with a goofy smile that makes my heart skip to a brand-new hopeful beat.

With a victorious grin, Harrison extends his hand to mine, laughing with a shake of his head.

“Done. Like taking candy from a baby,” he gloats.

“Wait,” Summer blurts, spinning to eyeball us both. “What?”
