“He kissed you?” Jessica smiled happily.

I nodded, then whispered, “And then I told him I couldn’t before I walked away.”

Jessica groaned. “Oh, Lidi.”

“I know,” I muttered, sniffling. “I fucked up big time. Not only does he think I don’t want him, but he also now knows I’ve been lying to him for weeks. How did I fuck this up so badly?”

“Claudia, Frank has been in love with you since he moved here. Only he never believed that you would love him back.”

“King’s right, Lidi,” Jessica added. “Now, with your secret out, you really need to fix this before shit goes sideways and you lose him forever.”

“What secret?” Bailey asked.

“Claudia is pregnant with twins. Frank is the father.” Jessica quickly added before I could shush her.

“Fix it now,” King growled, pointing his finger at me. “I mean it, Claudia.”

Gulping, I nodded. “I will. I promise.”

Chapter Nineteen

Frank

With nowhere else to go, I drove around for a while before I found myself back in the clubhouse, sitting at the bar, ignoring everyone while I nursed a beer. All I could think about was the look on her face when she saw me standing there in one of her rooms.

To make matters worse, my own brother knew before me.

What the hell was Georgie doing there?

More importantly, I was going to be a dad.

Me.

The one everyone avoided was going to be a father.

Reaching for my bottle of beer, I took a long pull when the bane of my existence walked into the clubhouse, heading straight for me.

Taking a seat next to me, I glared at the fucker.

“Go away, Georgie. I don’t want to talk to you.”

“Too bad, little brother. So, you want to tell me what the hell is going on with the pretty Dr. Claudia James?”

“You stay the hell away from her. Got me?”

My brother held up his hands. “Wasn’t going there.”

I huffed. “Yeah, sure. Since when?”

“Since I found Emily in bed with one of my so-called friends.”

Damn. Now I felt like shit.

“Sorry to hear that,” I whispered. “That why you’re here?”

George nodded, taking my beer from me before downing the rest of it. “Yeah. Amongst other things. Needed a fresh start.”

“Just giving you a heads up, but Granny is here.”
