Before Trey, I wasn’t sure I was capable of taking a human life—other than my own. He changed that in me. I know without a doubt that if Trey tried to harm me or Cam, I would put him down like the rabid dog he was.

“If it comes down to it, yes.”

Waking up, I have a sinking feeling in every cell of my body. In the blink of an eye, reality slaps me, and I’m reminded of why I feel this way.

Peeling Cam’s arm off of me, I roll over and check the time on my phone—12:42 p.m.

Holy shit, how in the hell did we sleep in this late?

I nudge Cam. “Hey, wake up. It’s almost one o’clock.”

“Five more minutes,” Cam pleads.

Laughing, I tickle his side and watch all of his muscles contract as he laughs.

“Oh my God, don’t do that. I hate being tickled.”

Tickling him again, I giggle. “Well, we’ve got a problem then because this is way too much fun to never do again.”

He rolls over and on top of me, pinning me to the bed. His hair falls down, framing his face as he stares at me.

“You are such a brat, Little Dove.” He squints his eyes at me and lowers his hips down onto mine.

Biting my bottom lip, I whisper, “What are you going to do about it?”

His eyes darken as he hardens against me. “I have a lot of things I could do about that attitude, including a really quick solution to get that pretty mouth to stop being so bratty.”

“And what’s that?” I challenge.

“Sliding my cock down your throat until gagging is the only sound you can make,” he growls.

Sucking in a sharp breath, I wriggle beneath him, feeling his growing bulge press into me.

His stomach growls, breaking the silence between us.

Giggling, I ask him, “Hungry?”

He chuckles, showing off those pearly whites. “Yes, I’m starving.”

Patting his chest, I say, “Come on. I’ll make you breakfast.”

We head downstairs, and I reheat a few muffins and brush them with melted butter.

“I hope blueberry muffins are okay,” I say, sliding the plate toward him.

“Mmm-mmm-mmm,” he hums. “Perfect.”

While Cam stuffs down the first muffin, I decide to check the voice mails for my shop.

Two voice mails.

I click the first one and listen to a woman’s voice.

“Hi. I was just wondering if you guys are open today. Give me a call back at…”

I click off since the voice mail is two days old. It would be almost rude to call back at this point.

I click the second voice mail and bring the phone back to my ear.
