“Done,” Lucas announces after making eye contact with each of the others in turn.

“And all the bossiness?”

Seth grunts. “That’s not going anywhere.”

“You can be damn sure of that.” Alexander nods.

“Can’t keep you safe if you’re off doing whatever, whenever. Hell no. Bossiness stays,” Oliver agrees.

I roll my eyes. “Fine. A little bossiness.”

“We almost lost you,” Dylan says. “There’s going to be a lot of it, at least for a while.”

“And the first thing is you need to rest. I’ll bring you up some food and then you’re going to rest. On your own. No one is gonna be bothering you today.” Lucas points to the men. “We all agreed.”

“I didn’t agree to that,” Seth huffs.

“I’ll keep you occupied.” Dylan wraps his arm around Seth’s waist.

“I’m going to be busy making a bigger crate. And getting a new pillow.” Alexander bends at the waist and kisses my forehead. “For later, when you’re better.”

I shake my head.

Colt kisses my cheek. “You do what Lucas says, sweetheart. I’ll come sit with you later if you want, but you need to rest.”

I nod. “I will.”

He smiles then follows Dylan and Seth out the door.

Oliver kisses me, then Carter does.

“We’ll give you a week, but then we’re going out to the woods again.” Carter winks. “Got it?”

I laugh. “Sure. I got it.”

One by one the others kiss me also, then file out of the room.

Lucas is the last.

“How does soup and a sandwich sound?” He tugs the blankets up.

“Sounds great.” I meet his eyes. “Daddy.”

He grins. “Be a good girl and rest, all right?”

I nod.

“There’s still a lot to deal with. The press is going to be all over you when they find out you’re alive, but you can handle it. You’re not alone anymore. You have all of us now.”

I grab his hand and press a kiss to his palm. “One day, I think I’d like to meet this Hunter guy. I need to thank him for bringing me here.”

“Maybe one day.” Lucas brushes his hand over my hair. “Rest now.”

I nod and snuggle beneath the covers.

“You’re going to have seven men hungry for you very soon. You may change your mind and try to run off.” Lucas stops at the door, smiling at me.

“I’m not running anywhere,” I promise. “Why would I? I’m already home.”

His face softens. His eyes warm.

“That’s right, babygirl. You are.”

The End.
