“Great. We haveseveral new babies here, and the mothers seem to be doing great.”

“Three here arehelping out, making the workload less so much.”

There was a pause,and she found herself smiling as she waited.
“I have aquestion. Were there any boobs showing, and did someone manage totake pictures?”
Brooke laughed.“Pervert.”
“That’sme. Darling, are you okay?”
“If you ask ifI am dealing with your gorgeous ex, the answer is yes. She is notthat bad a person and might just be a good doctor.”
“That’s arelief, even though I was quite looking forward to you two going ateach other over me.”
“Dream on. Nowleave me alone, and let me get some work done.”
“I love you,”he said softly, causing her heart to flip in her chest.
“You are tryingto butter me up.”
“Is itworking?”
“I will let youknow later. Since you provided dinner yesterday, I thought I wouldreturn the favor. Will we be going to your place?”
“My place.”
“What are youin the mood for?”
“You alreadysound like a wife.”
“Bite yourtongue. For that remark, you eat whatever I feel like getting.”
“I am okay withthat. Bye, darling.”
Hanging the phone,she had to take several breaths to settle herself.
