I smile at him. “We don’t have to be here. Maybe we should make Spencer and Echo a little jealous, like they made you.”

“Mmm, I like the thought of that,” he says. “Make them watch me claim you and lick you.”

“Then, shut the door on them while we finish up?” I ask.

“Hm. Depends which door. You might have noticed my bedroom is kind of pathetic.”

“It was a little cozy.”

“There’s cozy, and then there’s basically a closet.”

“I don’t care, Toshi. If you care, we can ask E.A. and use his room.”

“You think he’d let me do that?” He doesn’t look convinced.

“Why wouldn’t he?”

“Because he’s so protective of his room that he locks his door?”

“I don’t think that has anything to do with the room. I’ll ask him after we eat. He’ll say yes.”

I know he will. Toshi shrugs, finishing his sandwich and moving on to a packet of plain salted chips.

I take my time with mine, and I go back into the bedroom when I’m done, ready to wake E.A. and get us all headed back to their apartment where there’s food and takeaway menus, and most importantly, two mates I haven’t claimed yet.

It looks like they’ll be waiting a little longer for that, but I don’t regret a thing.

Toshi’s my priority right now. Everything else can wait.

Chapter Eighty-Three

E.A.

Waking up to Leanne’s insistent voice is a lot more pleasant than being beeped at by a testy alarm clock. I rub the sleep out of my eyes as I sit up in her bed. It’s much brighter in the room than it was when Toshi and I decided it was time to sleep last night, but I have no clue what time it is.

“I’m assuming it’s morning?” I ask.

“It’s about eleven,” she confirms. “Toshi said he called Spencer last night, and that the guys would head over here maybe around two to walk us back to the apartment. I thought it might be a good idea to save them the trip.”

“That’s probably smart,” I admit, as I get out of the bed. “Do you have everything you need to take back to our apartment? Maybe we should wait for them if you want to call this moving day?”

She hesitates and shakes her head. “Toshi and I have a plan.”

“A plan?” I ask, stretching my neck.

“Apparently Spencer and Echo teased him a lot while you guys were waiting for him to be ready as your mate. They were always doing stuff in front of him?”

I groan. “Ah, yes. I remember that so-called tactic well. It didn’t work the first time, and it didn’t work the hundred other times they tried it.”

“Well, I thought it might be nice for Toshi if we claimed each other in front of them, accidentally-on-purpose style. Except Toshi’s kind of embarrassed about his bedroom …”

“You can use mine,” I tell her. “That’ll definitely surprise them.”

She smiles. “That would be awesome.”

“If you’re ready to go, I’ll just take a quick shower …”

“Take your time,” she says, as she picks up a bag from the floor in front of the closet. “And we have salad sandwiches out here when you’re ready.”
