I close my eyes and rub the spot above my nose, where a headache is about to come on.

I knew it. I knew I should have gotten Spencer to keep an eye on her.

Might as well get dressed before I call on him now.

I can’t go out looking for her without clothes.

Chapter Fifty-Three

Spencer

I pull the covers over my head when the banging noise starts. I don’t need to check the alarm clock to know I probably managed to switch it off half-asleep. The only one who would be trying to wake us up right now is E.A. and if he’s doing that, it means we’ve slept in.

“Go away!” I call out, under the covers.

Echo snorts next to me. “I don’t think E.A. heard you.”

The banging doesn’t stop, so, clearly, he didn’t.

I sigh as I pull back the covers. I squint at the alarm as I haul myself up.

“It’s only eight forty. We’re not late!”

Grabbing my underwear from the floor, I throw my briefs on before I walk over to the door.

If there’s one good thing about E.A. it’s how particular he is about disturbing someone.

He’d never just barge in. He always knocks and waits to be invited or told to fuck off.

Not that it ever really comes to the second thing.

“Did we sleep in?” Toshi asks, sounding completely exhausted.

“No, it’s cool,” Echo tells him. “We’ve got time.”

Considering how late we stayed up last night, we could all use the day off to recover.

I open the door and find E.A. with a pinched look on his face that tells me something’s up.

“What is it?” I ask, as I pat-down my messed-up hair.

“It’s Leanne. What else? She promised to stay in bed while I showered, and then …”

“Wait. What? Did Leanne sleep in your room last night? I thought she was staying in Toshi’s.”

“She stayed in my room. Nothing happened. We just talked. That’s not the point. She’s gone.”

I blink at him, suddenly feeling wide awake. “Gone? What do mean, gone?”

“She was talking about going home. We need to go find her.”

“Calm down,” I tell him. “I’ll throw clothes on and come with you. Toshi and Echo can stay here in case she comes back. Okay?”

He nods. “I’ll meet you at the door.”

“Great.” I dart over to my jeans and start hauling them on.

Echo sits up in the bed. “What’s happening?”
