“I prefer reality, baby,” he whispers. “You show me yours, and I’ll show you mine.”

I glare. “You are so corny when you are horny.” Lines won’t win me over. Not anymore.

Pierce rests his head against the brick wall. “I know the other guys are dragging you down. Justin with his sensitivity and long, flowing hair that takes him an hour in the bathroom to style. Or Wyatt and his bottom lip poked out so far he could trip on it. And Bryce. Does he put a mirror by the bed so he can watch himself in action?”

I can’t hold back my loud laugh. “You are wrong,” I tell him, “I expect to be treated right. I’m not a girl sweating for you. You have to prove you’re worth my time.”

Pierce leans in, and his lips graze mine. Instantly, that spark lights up as I close my eyes. His lips press hard against mine, and his hands pull me tight against him. All his energy wraps around my body and sends chills spiraling around my skin. I feel like I’m being kissed all over. I moan when he pulls away.

“You and me,” Pierce is breathless as he speaks. “You won’t regret saying yes.” He kisses my earlobe and whispers in my ear, “You’ll give up all your other bad boys after you’ve had me.”

I’m about to laugh but can’t, not when my insides are melting from a kiss. His mouth presses against mine again until I’m so weak I can’t push away.

Pierce pulls back and smiles. “I’ll text you.” He gets up, kicks the bagel out of the path, and walks away as I sit there in a daze, watching him. The boy I used to hate.
