“Already on it. I’ll leave early to get everything omega-proofed. I don’t want her accidentally finding anything dangerous. We’ll also need some extra food, especially if we plan on participating in a heat soon.” I ruminated on what just happened. Kian didn’t want to get involved with an omega, and I understood his reasoning. He’d always prioritized safety over feelings. But I knew him better than anyone, and I could see that he wanted her too. However, he was stubborn, and I suppose it would be good to have someone available as a lookout during the heat if he wasn’t going to join in. But man, I’d love to see him take her, throwing her legs up on his shoulders as he plunged into her. I’d love to be right beside them, caressing her face as she took me into her mouth. I could already imagine the noises she’d make, the look on Kian’s face as he let his knot connect them in ecstasy. My shorts tented, and I had to shake my head free from my fantasies. There would be plenty of time to experience the real thing, and hopefully enough time for Kian to change his mind. In the meantime, I needed to pack. We were taking an omega to our actual home, which was going to be a first.

Chapter 34

Jameson

Cy and Maddox started loading the vehicles while I walked down the hall to see Bella. I couldn’t wait to tell her the news. I found her watching tv again, and as soon as I stepped in her face lit up. I loved that sight. Her smile made my whole world brighter, and I wanted to see it every day. “Hi kitten, anything interesting on?” She reached for me and I bent down to scoop her up.

“Just watching the Masked Designation. Have you heard of it?” I held her close to me as she nuzzled into my chest. It was crazy how natural our connection was.

“No, I don’t watch much tv. But you can tell me all about it on the ride.” She peered up at me from under my arms.

“What ride?”

“We’re taking you to our home, kitten. After all, you need to have a proper nest, one that fits your preferences, and we have plenty of extra space at our house.” I grinned as her eyes grew wide. I felt her squirm a little at my words.

“So, I’ll be having my heat there?”

“If that’s what you want. We can keep you safe and secure, and it’s much nicer than this place. But if you’ve changed your mind, just say the word. You’re in charge.” Her hands clutched my shirt as she pulled herself as close as she could to me.

“I want you all to help me. Thank you, Jameson.” she whispered. Her trust in me made my chest fill with pride. If I could carry her around with me like this forever, I would.

“No need to thank me, kitten. You are the one giving us the honor. We’re packing up now and we’ll head out soon. I’d prefer to get you to the house soon so we can prepare for your heat properly.” She nodded and smiled as I carried her through the safe-house toward the garage.

“Are you guys going to tell me more about yourselves on the ride?” She asked, and I was glad that Kian was going to be driving separately.

“As long as you tell me more about your favorite show.”

The garage was clean and sparse save for our van, one of our big SUVs, and Kian’s luxury car. Maddox, Cy and I would ride with Bella while Kian drove his car separately. I wanted to shake my head at his madness. He couldn’t deny our bond to her much longer. It would only hurt him to do so. But he had to make his own choices. I opened the door to the SUV and helped Bella inside. “Wow, tinted windows? What do you guys do again?” She looked intrigued but also coy as she watched me from the side of her eye. I was sure she had some ideas about what we did, but we couldn’t tell her too many details. I tapped her nose before helping her buckle in. “I’ll tell you all about it on the ride.”

Once she was secure, I walked around to get to the other side, but Cy quickly pushed me out of the way. “Hey!” I barked as he slid into the middle seat, seating himself next to Bella while she laughed. “I was supposed to sit in the back with her!” Cy grinned over at me as he put his arm around Bella’s shoulder. “You snooze, you lose, big guy. And you can still sit in the back. I’ll be in the middle of a sandwich of hotness.” I growled and shut the door, deciding to sit shotgun while Maddox drove. Two backseat alphas of our size, even in the SUV we had, would still be way too cramped. And to be fair, the others were craving some one on one time with her. I settled into the seat and watched the garage door open. Kian was getting into his car, not even looking our way as he started the engine to drive off.

“Someone’s sassy today.” Maddox remarked, grinning while starting the SUV to follow him.

“Why is he so grouchy?” Bella asked with a tinge of worry in her voice. Cy stroked her arm, holding her close as she naturally already cuddled into him as we drove.

“Don’t worry about him, love. He’s got a lot on his mind, and as pack leader he worries more than he lets on. You’ll see more of him at the house. I promise he gets better with time.” She grabbed his hand and held onto one of his fingers while she looked out the window. “Is he going to help with my heat?” Her little voice betrayed her insecurity. Immediately, Cy and I were emitting a deep rumbling purr while the SUV while Maddox talked to her in a soothing voice.

“Little one, he’s not decided at the moment. The truth is, we haven’t helped an omega through a heat as a pack before.” She was startled at his words. “You haven’t? But most packs need it.” Cy ran his hand over her hair and purred until she relaxed against his chest.

“We have helped omegas individually in the past, and we find release with others as well as each other when need to. But as a pack, this would be a first.” She became very quiet once she realized it would be the first time for us. After a minute or so she piped back up again with a cheerful smile.

“Well, that’s okay, because I’ve been through plenty of heats, so I can help walk you all through it!” Her chipper offer was too cute for words. Cy and I chuckled while she stroked his chest absentmindedly. “What? I mean, it sounded like you might be afraid at first. Either way, I’ve been with plenty of packs, so I’m used to everything.” My stomach sank a bit when she said that, as if she was so used to people letting her go after a heat. If I had anything to do with it, she’d be experiencing every heat from here on forward with our pack. I looked over my shoulder at her. “I trust in you, kitten. If we look lost, just guide us through it.” My gaze must have done something to her because she flushed and looked down. I gave Cy a wink and turned back to watch the road while we drove.

“So, since we are all doing this, can you tell me at least a little of what you do?” She was so earnest about trying to get to know us. Someday, I hoped I could tell her anything she wanted to know.

Maddox decided to answer for us. “Well, technically, we work in real estate. But we take on side projects as well.” She looked at him skeptically as she pursed her lips.

“Side projects? Does that include taking omegas from the Darlington Ball?” Maddox looked sheepish, which was a first. I’d seen that beta take down skilled alphas, get into the most secure buildings and torture answers from people before. Yet this omega had him looking chagrined. I turned around and gave the little omega a wink. “More like taking temporary custody of omegas, keeping them safe and secure.” She cocked an eyebrow at me while Cy laughed.

“We also do a lot of IT and cybersecurity work. At least, that’s what I specialize in.” He looked down at her and pushed his glasses up on his nose, trying to look like a computer nerd. But nothing was going to convince her he was any type of regular IT guy. At least not with the rest of his body looking the way it did. She seemed to be satisfied with our answers, at least for the time being. Her gaze was drawn to the view as we drove closer to town.

“Wow! Is this what all the architecture is like in the Eastern Province?” I suppose it was natural that she would figure out where she was. The homes and buildings had a distinct regional flavor to them that was very different from the style across the mountain.

“Yes, and our buildings tend to be older.” Maddox added. She nodded as she watched the homes go by.

“I never got to see much else besides the castle.” She said wistfully.

“You don’t travel much?” Cy asked, his green eyes entranced by her.
