But I refused to let him pull away. I’d earned every drop of release he had to give to me, and I wasn’t about to let him waste it.

I moved my hands to splay my palms over his ass, holding him against me as my throat convulsed around his cock and he finally screamed, his shaft pulsing between my lips as he came, and I swallowed it down. My eyes watered and my chest burned, but I held on until he finally stilled before pulling away and letting him fall from my lips.

“What in the hell possessed you do that?” Griffin asked, his voice hoarse as he pulled his pants up and refastened them.

“It was mine,” I answered with a shrug.

I started to get up, but he lowered himself to his knees in front of me and rested his forehead against mine.

“You’re insane,” he said. “And incredible.”

“So…it was okay then?” I rolled my lower lip between my teeth as I watched him. He’d been so close to coming that he probably could have fucked a glass of warm water and gotten off. So the fact that he’d actually come wasn’t quite proof of my skill in any way.

“It was amazing,” he promised me. “But you really didn’t have to do that.”

“I know,” I assured him. “I wanted to.” I smiled softly at him. “I suppose you have to go home tonight?”

“I do,” he agreed. “But you can still come with me.”

“Nah,” I said. “I mean, I want to. Truly. But maybe we shouldn’t push this. I’ve already got eyes on me here and regardless of cover story, we probably shouldn’t be seen spending too much time together too soon.”

“You did sober up,” he teased. “But you’re right. Though I am the Prince of this city and there isn’t much anyone beneath me can say about what I choose to do.”

“Right,” I said, rolling my eyes. “Because that’s how shit really works around here.”

“You still want out?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at me.

“No.” I shook my head. “My place is here. I may not really understand my role anymore, but I do know that I’m your soldier. And I’m not leaving you in here alone.”

“That’s a good boy,” Griffin said with a soft smile. “Give me a kiss and give me my keys and I’ll talk to you soon.”

I pulled his keys back out of my pocket and dropped them into his outstretched hand, then pressed my lips against his.

His tongue darted out, tracing across the seam of my mouth until I opened to him, and he sucked at my tongue, as if trying to taste his own flavor.

I moaned into his mouth, pressing my chest to his and digging my nails into his shoulders as he wound his arms around my waist and held me close.

I was already losing my mind when it came to this guy. Too much more of this and I was absolutely going to lose my heart, too. I’d been on the verge of falling for him for years. But now that he was here, now that he was real…I knew I was fucked.

“You need to go,” I murmured against his lips. “Or I’m going to drag you to bed and find out if olive oil is a good substitute for lube.”

“It is,” he assured me, nipping his teeth against my jaw before releasing me. “But you’re right.” He walked to the door and paused with his hand on the handle, turning back to look at me again. “You sure you’re okay?”

“I’m five by five,” I assured him. “Go.”

He gave me a small smile then walked out, shutting the door behind himself.

I dropped onto the sofa with a sigh and a few minutes later smiled when I heard the unmistakable sound of a Porsche engine revving outside. Griffin peeled away and I closed my eyes, wanting to relive the evening we’d just had.

Unfortunately, my phone rang, ruining my thoughts.

“Hey, Eddie,” I answered, hoping I didn’t sound aggravated.

“How you feeling? Come down yet?” he asked.

“Oh, yeah. I’m fine, thanks.”

Had he really called just to check up on me? That was weird.
