She looked into his eyes, and he knew by her hazy stare she was close. He rubbed her nipples with just a tiny hint of claw, the way he knew would turn her even more wild and wanton, and watched as those big brown eyes bloomed with her impending release.

“Oh gods, Ethannnnnn!”

Ethan’s hips snapped hard into her pelvis as he thrust into her and she matched him, his beautiful dragon mate woman, until he felt her vibrating around him to the point of no return.

Ethan roared her name. The dragon in him came to the fore, his scales rippling, eyes sparking, accessing his ancient form.

And when a moment later, Min threw back her head, her copper hair glowing, her body arching above him as her orgasm crashed through her, Ethan was right behind her, chasing his release on the wings of pleasure.

As they fell together, he imagined they were tumbling through the sky, being carried by the Winds from the West for all of eternity.

EPILOGUE

Two years later.

It was a perfect Sunday afternoon. Dappled sunlight shone through the trees. A fountain gently splashed, and a rug had been spread out on the lawn in the garden of the Westerly Bookshop.

Min lazed against her husband’s chest, which was naked and golden and green, and as soft as a pillow, as they enjoyed their afternoon.

“It’s so lovely just us here on a Sunday.” She sighed contentedly. By now they’d converted the top floor of the bookshop into an apartment that suited them both. It wasn’t large, but Ethan said he didn’t need all the pomp and grandeur of the Blade mansion anymore.

Besides, there had been the issue of Gingerbread, who had totally refused to move homes.

They’d left Cressida happily living in the mansion with Beau, who had taken over Ethan’s apartment. Now that his gaming business had taken off, he liked having the extra space to work in.

So the Westerly, they’d decided, was where they wanted to bring up their dragonlings.

At least for now.

Maybe once they’d really got the plants growing on the perimeter road area, they’d build a house next door.

Who knew? They might need more space as their family grew. Min smiled to herself and touched her belly.

Theo had been born nine months ago. Not from an egg, that was a given. With her being human, conception had been tricky, with a fair bit of mage intervention. But, the surprise—not disappointment—the surprise was that Theo was definitely dragon. In fact, he was the most dragonish twilight dragon ever to be born—he had hardly any human characteristics at all. Which was very odd, considering Min was human.

Luckily, even Cressida hadn’t been disappointed, and Ethan certainly wasn’t. He adored every one of Theo’s green and golden scales.

“Shall I go get some iced tea?” Ethan asked now.

“Sure, there’s a pitcher in the fridge. I’ll keep an eye on Theo.” Min looked lovingly at their son playing on a rug nearby, his tiny tail swishing. He’d only just started to walk, waddling on his chubby dragon legs, aided by that tiny tail, and you really had to keep an eye on him. Soon he’d be flying.

The only part of him that resembled Min were his eyes. They were big and brown with a few golden flecks, just like hers, although they blinked from side to side.

Looking at Theo happily enthralled with a bouncy rubber dragon egg, Min went and picked out a weed. She couldn’t help herself, if she saw one, she had to tug it out.

When Ethan emerged a few moments later with a tray of iced tea, his face paled.

“Where’ s Theo?”

Min’s head swung around. “Oh, I—” She looked around, horrified. He was no longer on the rug.

From somewhere in the bushes there was a thud, then a scream.

“Oh Ethan, I think he’s hurt himself.”

They raced over, Ethan winging it, rather than using his legs.

“Where is he?” Min started searching frantically in the bushes, but there was no sign of Theo.
