“I want you.”

“Then act like it, Solana.”

“Stop saying my name like that!” she complained, curling her lip.

“Like what?”

Closing the food container, she stood up and kicked my feet apart, allowing her to wrap her arms around my neck. “Like you’re ready to give up on us.”

My stoic expression had her panicking inside. Needing to feel something, she pressed her lips against mine, “You’re not ready to give up on us. Are you?” She moaned in between kisses.

Solana and I had a complicated situation. Morgan would definitely feel a way about it, but as far as I was concerned, he didn’t have a choice but to get over it. As for Solana, I knew her people would take it much harder. I didn’t know if she was ready for that kind of heat.

“You know what being with me means.”

“I know.”

“I’m not fuckin’ around Solana.”

Her spoiled side reared its head, causing her nose to wrinkle.

“I said I know.”

I watched Solana until her eyes bugged at me for staring. I was so caught up enjoying her struggle to sound confident in her choice.

“Just making sure Princess.”

I didn’t know everything but knew what Solana needed after an emotionally draining day. I laid on the couch with open arms, and she smiled, climbing into them like a big-ass baby.

Picking up the remote, she nuzzled her face into the crook of my neck because she was on her way to sleep while I found something to watch. It had been a long ass day for us both, but it felt good to end it together.

Chapter Six

“Niggas don’t know how to answer the phone anymore?” I fussed as Gi walked into my office.

“My bad. I left that shit at the crib. Hailo is dropping it off.”

“That could’ve cost you.”

“Ain’t shit to worry about when you’re living right,” Gi shrugged, sitting on the couch. “Wassup, though?”

“You tell me. Did Quest and Mo come through?”

The corner of his mouth hiked.

“Of course they did. Otherwise, you would know,” he chuckled.

If it were up to me, Morgan would’ve died. He violated, and there was only one way to pay for that, but there was no place for emotions in business.

“Quest is usually about his business, but he was acting weird as fuck the other day,” Gi shared.

“Weird, how?”

“I can’t really explain it. Just a hunch, but I’m keeping my eye on it for now.”

There was a light tap at the door, pausing the conversation as I yelled to come in.

“Funny how you respect other people’s shit,” Gi complained as Hailo strolled in.
