I shot Vincent a twisted smile at how casually Ky rolled off his lips. It was an underlying tone that most women would’ve overlooked. As a man, I knew that tone and the sly grin on his face that accompanied it.

My neck turned slowly, masked with a twisted expression, “What the fuck did you just say?”

Deal or no deal, no nigga could walk in my shit telling me about my business or wife. Vincent picked up on it and tried to refocus the conversation on the original topic.

“We’re taking on all the risk yet supposed to share the reward. That’s bad business.”

“So was you walking in here calling my wife Ky.”

Vincent was far too full of himself to backpedal and sell me bullshit about him not meaning any disrespect. I would’ve been more surprised if he did.

Instead, Vincent repeated it, causing my rage to mount inside. “Ky and I go way back. She’s the reason I keep coming back to the table. I would’ve walked away weeks ago if this were anyone else.”

My impulses were holding on by a thread, listening to this man speak so intimately about another man’s wife.

“The problem is you’re over-estimating the value of this deal. DuPont Falls doesn’t need a stadium. Your team does, and I don’t give a fuck how far you and Ky go back. I have the final say.”

“I got a lot further in these negotiations with Kyerra. Is she available?”

The thread popped as I moved around my desk and yanked Vincent out of his seat by the collar of his shirt.

“You come in my shit asking if my wife is available like some bitch that can be bought? I don’t know what kind of game you’re playing, but she isn’t available for you or anyone else. Word of advice, playing with another nigga's wife is a dangerous game that only ends one way. You ready for that?” I asked because all the patience I had for Vincent’s bullshit was gone.

Nebula rushed in the door, looking concerned, “Is everything okay?”

Freeing his shirt from my grasp, Vincent adjusted himself while Nebula remained wide-eyed in the doorway.

“We’re all good. Mr. Carmichael and I no longer have business together. Nebula will validate your parking. Now get the fuck out of my office.”

Vincent buttoned his suit jacket and walked out as Nebula trailed behind him. I’m sure he was texting Ky while walking to the parking lot. I wasn’t trippin’ off them having a past. I was pissed I had to hear it from him instead of my wife.

As the day passed, my mind replayed every meeting I asked Kyerra to fill in.

What they talked about.

What they did.

How far back did they go?

It only fueled my rage, so I stayed at the office longer than usual to calm myself down. My temper had a mind of its own sometimes, and for the sake of my son, I was trying to do better.

When I finally reached my driveway, the thought of going inside had me seeing red, so I pulled off and found myself at the strip club. I couldn’t get any action at home, so this was the next best thing without disrespecting my marriage.

Taking a sip of my drink, the club was crowded, and niggas were lined up around the stage waiting on Charity Foxx. A few moments later, the lights dropped low, and she sashayed on the stage. Charity hooked her leg around the pole and hoisted herself into her signature move. She leaned back and hit a cartwheel midair, dropping down on the stage in a split.

The club erupted, cheering her on. Charity was official like that, so men came far and wide to throw money at her. She even had me adjusting myself.

“Hey Tyson, can we talk?” A female voice asked, pulling my attention from Charity. I wanted to tell her no for fucking up my show, and she knew it too. “Please, it’s important.”

Sitting the stack of bills on my lap, I grabbed my glass and finished my drink before asking, “Wassup?” I tried to place her, but I couldn’t, which made me curious about what we needed to discuss.

“I thought you should know your sister’s been creeping around with Quest.”

Chuckling to myself, it didn’t take her long to reveal her motive.

“Thanks for the report.”

She sat next to me, her brows knitted together in confusion, “I know it’s loud in here, but you heard what I said.”
