I have no idea what awaits me—only that it won’t be good.

CHAPTER TEN

When the door opens again, I gulp.

“Why are you dressed?” the stranger asks.

I attempt to calm my raising heart, my fluttering stomach. “You didn’t tell me otherwise. You told me to clean myself up.”

He frowns. “I’ve gone too easy on you.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“The rules are that I’m to keep you naked.”

I automatically cross my arms over my chest, as if his voice alone could dissolve the tank top from my body. “Why haven’t you?”

“Like I told you, I’m new at this,” he says. “I was trying to ease you into all this. I didn’t think it would hurt. But I see that it has. You’re not obedient.”

Obedient? I found when I obeyed Big Tammy, she wasn’t satisfied. She was looking for a fight, so I gave her one. I learned to fight back. I never won, but at least I didn’t feel like a total loser.

“I’m a fighter,” I say. “I’ve been fighting my whole life. I was small, though, and bigger people were always able to take advantage of me, no matter how much I fought back. The situation is no different now. You’re larger, stronger than I am. I can’t stop you from doing what you want.”

He sighs. “It’s not exactly what I want.”

“Then why do it?”

“Enough!” His voice is like the crack of a thunderbolt. “Take off those clothes now, or I’ll do it for you.”

I breathe in, attempt to calm my panic. Then I lift the tank top over my head, and again my breasts betray me. My nipples are hard, pointing straight at him.

What might those full lips of his feel like clamped around my nipple?

I squeeze my eyes shut and shake the thoughts out of my head. What the hell is wrong with me? Have I been so abused my entire life that I’ve gotten to the point that it turns me on?

I erase the thought as I shimmy out of my panties, and then I rise from the bed, stand before him. I meet his blue gaze.

“I want to see your face,” I say.

“I can’t remove the mask.”

I huff. “Why not? It’s not like I can get out of here. It’s not like you can’t do whatever you want to me.” I cross my arms. “I’ll fight you because it’s what I do. But you’ll win. The bigger one always wins. I should know.”

He grits his teeth. “I will break you.”

“Newsflash.” I raise my hands to either side of my body, putting my full nudity on display. “I’m already broken.”

He shakes his head. “You say that, but you’re wrong.”

“How would you know? You know nothing of my past. What I’ve been through.”

A small grin creeps over his face. “Because you told me you’ll fight back.”

CHAPTER ELEVEN

My jaw drops.

Maybe he’s right. If I were truly broken, I would just lie back and take it. Even after Big Tammy left, I still tried to free myself from the clutches of her accomplices every time. I was never fully successful—I was still so small—but I never made it easy for them.
