“Callie, when will you realize that you are an awesome author, you are extremely beautiful, and you have an amazing body? Richard is stupid for letting you go.”

“He didn’t have much of a choice. I left him. If he had his way, he’d still be groveling on the ground. I had to do something.”

“Girl. You don’t have to tell me twice. I know he’s still madly in love with you.”

“If he was as madly in love with me as you claim he is, he wouldn’t have cheated on me the way he did.” Just when she was going to counter, the flight attendant begins to speak overhead encouraging her to stop pressing the subject.

“Aloha.” The nice woman behind the counter greets us. “My name is Kiara; how may I help you?”

“Aloha,” Shelly and I reply while sliding my driver’s license over to her. “I have two rooms for Winters.” She types my information in the computer before gathering two packets of goodies for us.

“Mrs. Winters, here are your packets.” I want to correct her so badly, but I resist temptation. “Your rooms are on the first floor. Both are ocean front facing. You’ll find you’re in some of our best suites we have on the grounds.”

“Thank you, Kiara.” I take our room keys and the kind porter guides us to our rooms.

“Callie, this is amazing.”

“I never doubted it would be,” I agree. I knew it would be beautiful. It’s the reason I’m here that’s bothers me. The porter shows Sherry her room first before mine. I let her know that I plan on taking a quick shower to freshen up and will see her in an hour or so. She agrees and decides to do the same.

Deciding to take a bath instead, I begin to fill the water in the oversized tub. The ocean view from the tub is breathtaking. One can get lost with the view of the ocean alone. The way the room is set up, we’re looking over the beach front, and we can see the shore, but those who are on the sand can’t see us. It’s quite remarkable, really. After pouring a capful of bubbles in the tub, I gather my robe and begin to remove my clothing.

I slowly step into the warm sudsy water and find myself actually looking forward to some peace and quiet. Before submersing myself completely, I open my Spotify app and choose a relaxing playlist to listen to.

Ed Sheeran is singing about Supermarket Flowers on my phone as I drop my head back on the cool porcelain tub. This is heaven. This is exactly what I needed. Closing my eyes, I do my best to try to relax my muscles. Just when I’m almost in complete Zen, a voice calls from behind me.

“Wow. I didn’t realize this view came with the room.” My eyes pop open immediately and I sit up in shock. Turning in the water, not caring how much it sloshes over the side, my eyes narrow. “I know I didn’t pay extra for this.”

“What are you doing here?” I snap. I’d love to get out of the bath, but my robe is resting on the vanity bench a few feet away from me, and well, I’d have to stand up in order to grab it anyways.

“What am I doing here?” He points at himself. “The real question is what are you doing here?”

“This is my room, obviously.” He reaches into his pocket and pulls his little envelope that holds his key card.

“Sweetheart, this is my room.”

Current mood, squashed. I point over to my robe and ask if he could be so kind to grab it for me. He smirks, contemplates helping me before giving in and grabbing it for me. Thankfully, the bubbles are hiding all of my lady parts. He steps out of the bathroom to give me some privacy.

“I’m sorry for the mistake. Please accept my apologies,” Kiara pleads. Her face is flushed with embarrassment. “I’ll fix this immediately.”

“Please do,” I insist. Not taking any time to change, I wrapped the bathrobe around by waist, put on my flip flops, charged right past Ryan and came straight here. He followed with humor.

“Oh, I see.” She investigates. “Mr. Hayfield should be right above your suite on room 201.”

“Excuse me?” he interrupts. “I was promised that room.”

“Well, if you think I’m moving, you’re sorely mistaken.”

“Is that right?” He turns toward me and glares down.

“Oh, it is.” I stand tall against him. “I am not moving.”

“Well, I’m not moving.”

“God, please. I’ll move!” Sherry shouts from across the lobby. “What the hell happened?”

“He...” I said the same time he said. “She…”

“Oh hell. Stop.” She waves her hands in the air. “I don’t even care. I’ll move.” She walks up to the counter and asks Kiara to give her a new key to the room above me. Kiara hands her the new room key and Sherry grabs me by the arm, and she drags me out of the lobby and toward our rooms.
