“I suppose it wouldn’t do for the guests of honor to miss their party. Especially when half of ’em came all this way to see you clean up nice.”

He snorted. “And the other half?”

“They’re curious if you’ll change your mind about me.”

He pulled me closer. “Not a chance.”

“Is that so?”

His other hand cupped my chin, tilting my face up to his. “You belong to me, always.”

I swallowed tightly. His possessiveness should’ve chilled me, but I couldn’t steady my erratic pulse.

I curled my fingers around his. “Achille?—”

“You look amazing. I want you right now.”

I shivered. “Here?”

“Anywhere.”

Dangerous warmth bubbled through my core.

“They’ll see,” I whispered.

Achille’s low chuckle vibrated through me. His lips trailed a path from my ear down my neck, sending shivers cascading down my spine.

“Kill.”

He growled. “I’ll shove you against the wall and suck on your pretty tongue. Maybe your cunt, too.”

His vulgar words licked between my thighs.

My cheeks burned. “You’ll give me a concussion from all this swooning.”

“In that case, I’ll have to catch you every time.”

I gave him a playful push. “Behave yourself.”

“I can’t around you.”

“Oh, so it’s my fault?”

His eyes darkened. “I’ll show you whose fault it is when we get home.”

Lord.

He caught my hand and brought it to his mouth. His lips pressed into my knuckles, heat already spiraling in my core. This man wasn’t playing. He’d hidden the truth to claim me.

My broken heart cracked.

He frowned, lowering my wrist. “What is it?”

I needed to know what happened to my sister. Even if it tore us apart.

The door opened.

Santino stepped out, cradling a glass with amber liquid. “Stealing a moment away from the madness?”
