“June is my responsibility,” I say. “That doesn’t change if I move in, and I won’t take advantage of your space by using it as a… a pleasure den.”
“Our space,” he says, correcting me, and I nod. “And please never say pleasure den again. Sounds like we belong in a horrible porno from the seventies.”
“Right.” I laugh. “Our space. Thank you. It’s kind of you to offer your extra room to me.”
“Don’t mention it.” He reaches out and ruffles my hair. “I better get going, roomie.”
“That sounds so weird.” I laugh and spin on the stool so he can jump off. “When should I move in?”
“Whenever you want.”

“Nope.” Dallas scoops up his pile of food and grins. “And I think we can agree to keep this between us, right? Shawn might murder me if he finds out you’re living eight feet down the hall, and with the league’s rules and everything?—”

“I love secrets,” he says.
The wink he tosses me as he leaves the kitchen makes me want to clench my legs together, and I wonder if I just made the biggest mistake of my life.
