“Okay? And? What do I tell her?”

“Welcome her to the Love Moore family and then say… we’ve found her perfect match.”

Chapter 28

Nathan

Riley Griffin.

Lottie set me up with Riley Griffin.

Fuck.

I should be elated.

I should be popping champagne and bragging to everyone I know that I’m on a date with Boston’s own tennis sweetheart, Riley Griffin, right now.

But instead, I’m moping.

Because I know the real reason why I’m on this godforsaken date.

I spooked my matchmaker.

That fucking kiss spooked Lottie.

And instead of talking to me about it, she sent me a very professional—albeit cold—email, informing me how she believes I’m now ready to start dating for real and find myself theone.

The fuckingone.

My mind still can’t grasp the fact that she really did it—end our dates to set me up with someone else.

But wasn’t that the plan all along, though?

Didn’t I know that this was bound to happen eventually?

I mean, did I really think I could have gone on pretend dates with Lottie forever?

She’s not my girl.

She’s that pompous prick’s girlfriend.

And even though I knew she was his, I kissed her anyway.

And that’s the real reason why I’m on a date with Riley.

Damn it.

I still can’t understand how an intelligent, independent, and amazing woman like Lottie is with that douche.

And Cooper is definitely a douche.

I mean, what kind of asshole introduces himself as being a girl’s fiancé like that when it’s a complete lie?

Unless, of course, they really are engaged, and the one lying is Lottie.

No.

Lottie wouldn’t lie to me about something as serious as an engagement.
