Minutes feel like hours before my soul comes back to me, in no rush to return from whatever celestial paradise it went off to. My whole body is spent and sated by the time Nate slowly places my feet back on solid ground. Keeping his hands on my hips to prevent me from falling on my weak knees, he stands back up to his full height, his large frame towering over me.

We stare into each other’s eyes, neither of us ready to break this spell we are under.

My chest is still heaving from the earth-shattering orgasm he just delivered.

It’s only when I hear the sound of a zipper again that I look down and see spurts of cum on the floor between our feet.

He came.

From just eating me out, Nate came.

I open my mouth to say something, but he doesn’t want to hear it. Instead, he lays another kiss on me, this one so sweet that I feel my soul taking flight once again.

When we break away, he looks me dead in the eye, his next words coaxing a delicious shiver to run down my spine.

“Do you remember when we first met, you asked me what type of woman I thought would merit me prioritizing her? Above hockey? Above… everything?” he asks, his hazel eyes locked on mine.

“Yes.”

“I know the answer to it now. It’s the right woman, Lottie. When you find the right woman, shebecomes the priority in a man’s life. Nothing else matters. Only she does. I just didn’t know it at the time.”

“But now you do?” I ask with bated breath, seeing the truth written in his eyes.

“I do,” he retorts with steel conviction. “No more dates, Lottie. I found what I was looking for.”

Chapter 33

Nathan

“I’ve never thanked you personally for those box seats, son,” Lottie’s father, Harold, says, leaning back in his lounge chair with a mug of spiked eggnog in his hand. “That was extremely thoughtful of you.”

“It was nothing,” I reply, sitting on the couch beside him, my gaze flickering over to Lottie as she softly bounces one of her younger cousins on her knee, making the little girl squeal with glee.

“Still, I appreciate it. Not only do I get to see my favorite hockey team in action, but it also allows me to have some quality time with my daughter.”

The mention of Lottie pulls my attention away from her and brings it back to her father.

“My girl never seems to have much time to just sit back and enjoy life these days,” he continues to muse. “She’s always working so hard, doing everything in her power to succeed at her job, that sometimes she forgets to take some time off just to focus on herself.”

“Lottie’s very passionate about her work, sir,” I chime in a bit defensively.

“That she is.” He smiles proudly. “I’m very proud of my Charlotte. The whole family is. But other passions in life are just as important, wouldn’t you agree?” He cocks a curious brow in my direction.

“Honestly, sir, I kind of understand Lottie. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t play hockey. I think Lottie being so passionate about her job is a good thing. She brings people together. She gives them hope. Finds them love in a world that has forgotten to appreciate such a thing.”

Harold’s smile stretches on his face as he continues to stare at me.

“May I ask, has my daughter also helped you in that department?”

“She has, sir. She’s… a good influence on me. She’s… changed my life,” I try to explain without going into too much detail on how Lottie has been an influence in my life. Professing my love for his daughter when I haven’t had the opportunity to tell Lottie first doesn’t seem right.

Then again, eating her out in her childhood bedroom while her entire family was just two stories down might not have been polite etiquette either.

Not that I regret it.

Not when I can still smell her scent on me.

Or how sweet she tasted on my tongue.
