“Lottie,” I grunt on a strangled breath. “I’m going to need you to come for me, sweetheart.”

“Then kiss me,” she says, pained, so close to falling off the precipice herself. “Kiss me, and don’t ever stop.”

I crush my lips on hers and swallow her little whimpers as I quicken our pace. I pound into her tight pussy while my mouth devours hers, owning every inch of her and claiming her as mine. When her walls start to convulse, and I feel her soul begin to take flight, I wrap my arms around her and hold her tight. She wails out my name as I growl hers, both of us riding the euphoric wave out together.

And once the earth stops moving and we’re both back on solid ground, we stare into each other’s eyes, lost in this perfect moment when it was anything but just a few minutes ago.

Because life with my Lottie will always be like this—perfect, even when it’s not.

“Marry me,” I hear myself say.

“Marry you?” she retorts with a soft smile.

“Yeah. Marry me.” I nod.

She lets out a giggle and nudges her forehead to mine.

“Isn’t that a bit fast? I mean, we’ve only been together two days.”

“Is it?” I counter. “It doesn’t feel like it is.”

“Hmm.” She grins. “Yesterday, you asked me to move in with you, and today you’re proposing marriage. Are you going to knock me up tomorrow?”

“If that’s what you want,” I tell her truthfully. “If you want to fill this house with babies, I’m more than happy to comply. But if you want it to just be the two of us for the rest of our lives, I’d be happy with that, too. Whatever you want, Lottie. It’s yours. I just want to start building a life with you. That’s all I want.”

“You’re serious,” she says, finally realizing I’m not fucking round. I’ll never fuck around where she’s concerned. Not ever.

“I am.” I nod while caressing her flushed cheek with the back of my hand. “I’ve never been more serious about anything my entire life. You are it for me, Lottie. You are all I ever wanted without even knowing it. I don’t want to wait just to follow some arbitrary rule that says we might be rushing it. I want to rush it because I want to start our life now. I’ve waited long enough for happiness to knock at my door. And now that you’re here, I want to commit myself fully to you and only you.”

When her eyes start to water, I realize that I’ve done this all wrong.

I should have bought her a ring, gotten down on one knee, and even talked to her father beforehand since I know how important family is to my girl.

“I know I don’t have a ring, but—”

“Yes,” she whispers, her eyes sparkling with happy tears.

“What?”

“I said yes, Nate. I’ll marry you. I’ll marry you today if you want me to. Because you’re right. We’ve waited long enough. And I want to build a life with you, too. So much. That’s all I want.”

“Fuck, Lottie. I… you… fuck!” I shout in glee, cupping her cheeks in my hands and kissing every inch of her face. “I love you! You have made me the happiest man alive!”

She laughs as her tears stream down her face.

“I love you too.”

I pull her face to mine and kiss her long and hard.

“I’ll give you the life you deserve. I promise,” I vow after breaking our passionate kiss.

“I know you will,” she coos, batting her gorgeous lashes at me.

“Now, I want nothing more than to take you upstairs and fuck you good and hard in our bed just to show you how happy you’ve made me, but there’s something I need to do first. Someone I need to see first. Will you come with me?”

My Lottie nods, and I know that, at this moment, she would follow me to the ends of the earth as long as she knew it would make me happy.

An hour later, we walk into Dr. Seymour’s office, with Lottie’s fingers threaded with mine.
