TWO WEEKS LATER

“Preacher.” I hear the Irish drawl of Denis Gallagher and turn to see the grayish-haired man walking toward me. He’s in his mid-forties and has a fucking slew of children. One of which is my brother, Pyro’s, old lady. Chloe is the fucking shit. Every brother adores her. She’s perfect for Pyro and she makes him happy. Her parents have been integral in getting the clubhouse here in Dublin set up so that our chapter could have somewhere to live.

“Denis,” I reply.

“It’s good to see you, man. Shame about the circumstances, but I’m glad to have you here with us.”

My blood turns ice-cold. Fuck, being away from Tyson is the hardest thing I've ever done. Especially with Wrath's old lady giving birth the moment I landed in Dublin. Being around a newborn brings back a fuck ton of memories that I've been trying to escape.

"What's up?" I ask, my tone not unfriendly, but there's definitely an edge to it.

"Three of my kids aren't biologically mine," he tells me, and it's something that I did, in fact, know. His ex-wife was a raging bitch. She gave Tyson's mom, Pepper, a run for the title of biggest cunt. I'm actually not entirely sure who'd win that, but thankfully, both women are dead and can no longer fuck up their kids’ lives.

"Sorry to hear that, man, but you've got to realize that our situations aren't the same." He got to keep the kids that aren't his. He's raised them into adults and will continue to raise them. He's their father. I'm not Tyson's. My son will never know me as his father. It's the right thing to do, but it fucking kills me to be without him. I'm fucking dying inside and there's no way out of this deep, dark hole I'm falling into.

"That's true," he says with a nod. "But you've got to realize that you could still be involved in his life. You may not be called father, but you will always be his uncle, and while that's different, maybe when the scars heal, you'll feel the connection to him."

"You think it'll be that easy?"

"No, not at all. It's going to be fucking hard. It's going to hurt more than anyone could ever imagine. But you don't have to lose Tyson, Preach. You could still be a part of his life."

I release a heavy sigh. The anger that I have is still burning deep within me. "Right now, that's not goin' to happen,” I say through gritted teeth. "I can't fuckin' do that."

"I get that. I doubt I could do that right now either. But give it time. Let time heal the wounds, and maybe one day you‘ll be able to."

I nod. "That's the only option there is."

He gives me a small smile. "Now, the real reason as to why I'm here..."

Now that's news to me. I assumed he was here to talk with me as the women are worried about me.

"The strip club is almost ready. From speaking with Pyro, I understand you're now taking charge of it."

I blink. "The fuck?" I knew this chapter had decided to go down the strip club route. It was voted on and passed in all chapters of the Fury Vipers as we hadn't done that yet. We hadn't sold women or even gone anywhere near talent at all. It needed to be voted on by all chapters. I didn’t know it was almost ready to open.

His chuckle infuriates me. "Did he not share that with you?"

I don't answer. I recall a conversation that was had, but I was so fucking drunk, I can't remember much of it. Shit. I need to get the fuck off the booze and start living, but the alcohol is a balm to the pain I'm constantly in.

He gives me a knowing look and shares the location of the club. "The club needs a manager or two. You need to hire dancers and servers."

Fuck. "How the fuck am I supposed to do that?"

"My wife will be helping. Bars and clubs are her forte. You need to be present while hiring. Callie’s waiting on you."

No fucking kidding. His wife is rich—beyond that even. She learned how to be a thriving billionaire from her father, who owns multiple hotels across the globe and is one of the richest men in the world. Together, father and daughter are unstoppable at anything they put their hands to. Having Callie helping us set up the strip club is the right move.

"Fuck, what time?"

"She's there at the moment and will probably be there all day as she's set up interviews for today. While I get that you'd rather not have to deal with this, my wife's taking time out of her day to do this."

"I won't disrespect your wife, Denis. Callie has helped this club out a lot. She deserves the respect of me going to the club and not leaving her to do all the shitty jobs."

Callie has gone out of her way to help the club. When Pyro and Chloe got together, Chloe let it be known that she didn't want to move away from her family. She'd been through a fucking lot, and she and her family have a close bond. That's something that every brother in the club understands because we have that bond with each other. But Pyro was tied. He couldn't abandon his club, yet he didn't want to lose the woman he loves, so Callie and Denis helped us. They organised things so that we didn't lose Pyro as a member and their daughter got to stay with the man she loves. They gave us a property that is now our clubhouse and have helped everyone get visas so we're able to stay in the country.

Without Callie and Denis' help, none of this would be possible. Because of them, I had a place to stay when I needed it. I was able to flee the States and come here, to a place where I'm able to find some solace. Not much, but a little. It's helped me understand that losing Tyson hasn't killed me. Fuck, it damn near almost did. But I'm here, alive, and I'm fucking surviving.

"I appreciate that, Preacher. You need anything, you just let us know.”
